SearchSpring is growing and needs your help!  We need a junior Java developer to help expand our backend capabilities.  We have ambitious goals for 2014 and you’ll be instrumental in achieving them.

The right person for this role is a hardcore backend engineer who asks lots of questions and learns quickly.  The quality of the craft is paramount, but you also can relate what you're doing to the business objectives.  You work towards the right answer, but sometimes will throw down a band-aid.  You want to make sure everyone understands how things work by sharing knowledge and writing documentation.

Our stack is Java /w some Spring framework, Spark, MySQL & Redis.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, debug and maintain backend software components.
• Build elegant solutions to complex problems.
• Learn, grow and contribute to making the team better (mentoring, sharing, helping others be more efficient, etc).

Requirements:

• Know Java or Scala like the back of your hand.
• Understand best practices and common software design patterns.
• Have a voracious appetite for learning, experimentation, trying new things and using that knowledge to deliver value.
• Know how to deal with software design challenges and tradeoffs.
• Must be willing to relocate to Denver, CO. (We’ll pay)
