The ideal candidate will have a background in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or corporate finance and will be at home assuming all financial reporting and analysis functions.
In addition to financial responsibilities, the analyst will be expected to screen and vet potential advertisers, manage advertiser relationships, ensure advertising fulfillment, and assist the VP of Operations in building out new revenue streams.

What You Will Be Doing

• Update the books and key metrics monthly using Xero software
  
• Maintain an up-to-date financial model, complete with forecasts and financial projections
  
• Maintain and coordinate ad sales implementation for our newsletter and podcast
  
• Provide ad hoc economic and data analysis as requested
  
• Assist the Marketing Team with economic and financial analysis of campaigns
  
• Support the VP of Operations in generation of new business and partnerships
  
• Submit payroll on a semi-monthly basis; handle 401(k) transactions
  
• Perform additional ad hoc projects as requested by the VP of Operations
  

What You Need

• Basic accounting competency — GAAP, inventory management, and cost segregation
  
• High competency in financial planning and analysis
  
• Solid computer skills — we are looking for an expert in Microsoft Excel
  
• Experience with Google Analytics, Xero, Stripe, and Amplitude is a bonus
  
• Strong writing skills — a professional, clearly written email is a daily part of the job
