Craftsy is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team! The Business Development Manager will be tasked with exploring strategic alliances and evaluating business development opportunities for Craftsy across a variety of channels including social media, print and digital media, product manufacturers and retailers. The key focus for this role will be to quickly identify new business and effectively negotiate and close deals through these and other distribution channels both in the US and Internationally. Craftsy business development arrangements could include, but are not limited to co-production, cross marketing, product placement, affiliate and/or class distribution alliances. The Business Development Manager should have at least three years experience in a business development, marketing, program management, investment banking, consulting or consumer internet role with particular expertise and experience in identifying prospective deals and closing arrangements. He or she should also be strong at developing a strategy and analyzing data to explore new channels and markets. The ideal candidate should also be well versed in working internally, across divisions and with teams to ensure the most beneficial outcomes and the success of the arrangements they are working to close. The business development manager should be a highly detail-oriented, analytically minded and an effective communicator that is creative in a business setting. The candidate should be one who goes above and beyond to serve both internal and external clients to create winning deals that drive both revenue and new customer acquisition for the company.
 
As a Manager of Business Development you will:
 
  • Explore new channels to strike deals by identifying new distribution, revenue or customer growth opportunities
  • Evaluate partnerships from a financial and distribution cost/benefit
  • Build strong external relationships on which to build a foundation for deal making
  • Engage at all levels of management and represent Craftsy in a business environment
  • Extract the maximum value in deals
  • Solve problems or create solutions when issues arise
  • Work internally across divisions with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the success of the business you develop
  • Work closely with partners to manage reporting and regular communication when necessary
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure we meet our reporting and data requirements
 
Your background likely includes, but is not necessarily limited to:
 
  • Deal making, negotiation and problem solving with outstanding communication skills
  • Business acumen with a financial, data and analytical focus
  • Diplomacy with an emphasis on effective execution and delivery
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Business development, marketing, investment banking, consulting or consumer internet experience
