RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver world-class software based on a modern JavaScript single-page application architecture
• Embrace collaboration as a “no ego” team member
• Become a member of an Agile team, participating in all activities from refinement of acceptance criteria to planning to delivery
• Create software designs, code, and test automations that keep simplicity in the forefront
• Participate in team/peer reviews regarding architecture, designs, and code to drive engineering practices and consistency
• Deliver as a team, verifying that completed user stories meet business expectations and be willing to “team test” as required
• Be ready to supply bottom-up innovation to the Product team on “what’s possible”
• Act as subject matter expert for other teams within ZP to ensure optimal software solutions
• Love to learn, love to teach
• Set a solid technical example, mentoring less experienced team members whenever possible
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of ZP’s development processes, architecture, and tools
• Work closely with QA and CM on functional, load, and automated testing, and deployments
• Contribute improvements and fixes on the existing platform to maintain function and quality
• Provide support on troubleshooting production systems when issues are escalated with a commitment to excellent customer service
• Revel in making end-users’ lives better with compelling software
• Be a student of the art of creating software, constantly growing and improving as a developer
• Be prepared to work hard, but also pause to celebrate inevitable victories

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years experience developing commercial software
• 2+ years experience developing systems using Agile development process (preferably Scrum)
• A solid background in a SaaS delivery platform for a high-availability environment
• Experience with fast-paced, start-up environment
• Experience with modern, client side ‘SPA’ application development
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Exposure to various MV* architectures such as Angular, Ember, React or Backbone
• Experience with lightweight view template binding design using KnockoutJS, Angular or similar
• Experience with responsive design using Bootstrap or similar
• Experience with modules and component design using AMD/RequireJS, CommonJS or similar
• Experience with object-oriented programming and design
• Experience with web services and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with web analytics and SEO techniques
• Strong software development process knowledge, including re-factoring, unit testing, test-driven development, and continuous integration
• A strong foundation in scientific method and general analytical skills
• A knack for working collaboratively with other developers, testers, and product owners
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field is nice, but aptitude and experience trump. We find that the best software developers come from many diverse backgrounds

EXPERENCE THAT WOULD BE A PLUS:

• Server-side languages such as C#, Java, ColdFusion, Python, or PHP
• Write efficient SQL queries
• Modern frontend developer workflow and build tools such as npm, grunt, gulp, ant etc.
• Git, GitHub, and/or Jira
• Continuous Integration experience with Jenkins or similar
• Native mobile development for iOS and/or Android
• Public cloud APIs and hosting
• Passion for fitness or sports: i.e. CrossFit, Martial Arts, or Yoga
• Prior experience developing or integrating with a CRM
