Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $110,000.00-$160,000.00 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)

About the role: We are looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer that will support one of the following programs:

  • INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
  • 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
  • Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security missions.

What you'll do:

  • Explore opportunities to improve existing antenna product lines through application of new processes or methods.
  • Participate on front-end design efforts to implement design for manufacturability concepts as well as, new or novel technologies, processes, or methods.
  • Look to improve processes and identify new, improved processes and/or systems to increase quality, lower cost, and improve throughput.
  • Act as a liason between design engineering and production including manufacturing engineering.
  • Help define roadmaps for new production methods and processes to allow future innovative designs.
  • Help improve existing infrastructure to drive current production efficiencies and to enable future product and production technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key job requirements:

  • BS or in an Engineering field or equivalent discipline. Advanced degree in Engineering Management, MBA, or similar desired.
  • 4+ years of experience in at least one core product area: Electronics, Mechanical/Machining
  • In-depth experience with ERP, MES, PLM, CAD, etc.
  • Budgeting and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with interpreting technical engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical documents including test and integration procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills and an ability to lead group discussions with both internal and external customers.
  • Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education.
