Craftsy is looking for top-notch, critical thinkers with a role-up-your-sleeves attitude to join the Category Expansion team. This team sits at the cross-section of multiple functions, setting the direction from content production to go-to-market strategy for new categories. Put simply, we’re looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, who demonstrate enthusiasm, drive, ownership and leadership to get results.
 
As a member of the Category Expansion team, you will:
 
  • Develop a vision for the category, including a clear content strategy and customer segmentation
  • Anticipate and recognize trends and leverage that insight to ensure we seize relevant, meaningful and timely opportunities
  • Build a data-driven portfolio of courses that will resonate with our passionate enthusiasts and lead to tangible business results
  • Take ownership for end-to-end execution and recognize your responsibility for the details for each course (this includes plenty of scheduling, logistics, and contracts!)
  • Establish, cultivate and sustain relationships with instructors who will produce blockbuster courses within the category
  • Be the category spokesperson both internally and to our target customers
  • Be a trusted advisor, expert and liaison for the content —building confidence with colleagues and instructors alike
  • Develop merchandising material for each course and partner with the Channel Marketing team so they can optimize the media spend for your courses
  • Measure category performance and optimize tactics based on key insights

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Understanding of business strategy and competitive analysis, including key growth levers 
  • Analytical expertise demonstrated in professional or academic environments
  • Project management experience to execute complex work in line with deadlines and milestones
  • Excellent communication skills–writing, editing and presenting in diverse formats as a face and voice of Craftsy
  • A personal passion for one or more of the Craftsy categories!
