Summary/Objective:

The AR Manager’s focus and responsibilities are the daily management of the client receivable multi-million-dollar portfolios.  Those duties include supervision of AR team as it relates to: Collections – ensuring consistent, professional diligence in resolving client accounts holistically – invoices, credits, unapplied cash; Account Management – constantly ensuring client information is accurate and correct such as Accounts Payable/Invoicing contacts, working with clients to improve account transactions such as providing invoice numbers on payment remittances, and other related areas.  Additionally, the AR Manager is expected to maintain their own portfolio of clients as necessary.

The AR Manager will possess the ability to be a leader in a fast-paced environment and have strong attention to detail while also managing a client portfolio.  While working under specific time constraints and guidelines, the AR Manager will need to have the mindset to evaluate and improve processes and procedures to benefit our clients and team.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Leads AR team by accountability ensuring processes are in place and followed
  • Encourages and motivates team to meet deadlines and goals
  • Manages performance of AR team including goal setting and providing continuous coaching and training to ensure all team deliverables and objectives are met
  • Point of contact for AR team to management
  • Preparation of reports for management on status of collections efforts for AR team overall
  • Handles all verbal and written communication regarding the accounts in their portfolio
  • Oversees the processing daily deposits
  • Oversees the preparation and emailing of customer invoices
  • Oversees the application of customer payments
  • Reconciles and adjusts customer account balances
  • Actively works to collect past due amounts, including regular communication and follow up with customers and internal stakeholders regarding any discrepancies

  • Must have proven management abilities and experience
  • Proactive, self-starter with exemplary organizational skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as take instruction from Controller
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
  • Ability and willingness to establish processes and procedures when necessary
  • Ability to meet established deadlines, while working with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and work on several projects simultaneously while continuing to provide quality work
  • Must have intermediate to advanced Excel skills

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 3+ years proven successful leadership experience in AR/Accounting roles
