The Position

We are on the lookout for an exceptional Accounting Associate to join our Operations Team! The individual that we’re searching for is excited about the prospect of growing their career in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Our Accounting Associate will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers. They will be able to prepare and analyze budgets with speed and precision and perform general bookkeeping. This role will require an individual who thrives in the potential chaos of a fast-growth startup environment, and is available M-F during regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable: assist with the monthly invoicing process, journal entries related to uncollectible receivables
• Accounts Payable: the Accounting Associate will own the A/P function. This includes (but is not limited to) timely payment of vendors, management of vendor relationships and annual 1099/1096 processes
• Transaction coding in accounting system
• Reconciliation of all bank and credit card accounts
• Revenue Recognition: the Accounting Associate will assist with reconciliation of revenue and the proper recognition of revenue
• Adapt and strategize for process improvement based on growth and change of operating environment
• Fixed Assets: assist with fixed asset schedules and related journal entries
• Periodic modeling and forecasting of financial information

Requirements/Skills

• A mind geared toward customer service
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Quickbooks
• Knowledge of other accounting applications is a plus
• A borderline obsessive attention to detail
• Experience with the Salesforce Platform is a plus

Education

• Accounting degree from an accredited university

Experience

• 1-2 years in accounting role preferred
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
• Experience working against deadlines is a non-negotiable
• Experience working in a start-up or high-growth, fast-paced environment is a plus
