5 downtown Denver coffee shops perfect for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and remote workers

Are you itching to get out of the office today? It's Wednesday and we all need a bit of a change of scenery. Do yourself a favor and schedule a meeting at one of these five delicious coffee shops. You'll not only get out of the office, but you'll also get a chance to give your brain a much-needed caffeine jolt -- or, who are we kidding, have a beer.

Little Owl Coffee - 1555 Blake Street

Why it’s awesome: They make their own almond milk in house -- which is pretty awesome. There’s a patio and an inside, so this place is always a good option regardless of the weather.

Why it’s good for a meeting: This coffee shop is small and perfect for an intimate meeting. Their coffee is delicious and it’s never very loud.

What you should order: Try a latte made with almond milk and a raspberry pop tart.

Novo Coffee - 1600 Glenarm Place

Why it’s awesome: Location, location, location. And good coffee.

Why it’s good for a meeting: Novo is located just off the 16th Street Mall and just outside of Denver’s financial district, yet it retains its ‘cool’ factor. If you work in this area it’s just about your only option.

What you should order: Orange zest mocha — cause, you only live once (probably).

Black Eye Coffee Shop - 3408 Navajo Street

Why it’s awesome: It’s small, quiet and somehow instantly relaxing when you walk in. Just make sure your meeting doesn’t disturb the others in there who will inevitably be sitting around studying, reading or just hanging out.

Why it’s good for a meeting: In the middle of a stressful day it can be nice to have a meeting in a location that disarms those involved. Your meeting is likely to feel more like a date than business meeting -- in a good way.

What you should order: Breakfast tamales.

Huckleberry Roasters - 2500 Larimer Street

Why it’s awesome: It’s likely to be absolutely filled with people on Macbooks -- men will almost all have the sides of their heads shaved and women will have some part of their hair dyed. It’s a hipster haven.

Why it’s good for a meeting: It’s super chill, the coffee is good and you won’t piss anybody off by holding a spirited conversation.

What you should order: AeroPress coffee.

Thump Coffee - 1201 E 13th Avenue

Why it’s awesome: They have paleo muffins, which is exactly what your caveman ancestors used to eat.

Why it’s good for a meeting: It never gets very loud, there’s almost always a place to sit and the space itself is very clean so you can think clearly.

What you should order: Latte and biscotti.
