Colorado Startup Brews 2016: Meet Wayin

In 2015, Colorado Startup Brews hosted eight beers in the IPA grouping.  Of those eight, two of them scored over 35 points.  AdVision’s Ghost Fruit White IPA scored 36 points and Epoch’s IPA scored a whopping 39!

On September 9th, Matt Klich and Paul Rizzo will be bringing their A-game to the India Pale Ale grouping with two hoppy pale ales. Soul Searcher is a Red IPA, brewed with homegrown Cascade and Chinook hops and a hint of rye.  It’s figured to have 6.9% ABV and an estimated 79 IBUs. Lazy Day IPA is a Colorado IPA and estimated to be a little lower in both ABV and IBUs (6.5% and 75, respectively).

Matt and Paul will be representing Wayin, a digital marketing platform that delivers campaign experiences across many digital properties and measure performance of those campaign experiences.  They’ve racked up logos like CNN, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Major League Baseball (MLB), and our Super Bowl 50 Champions – the Denver Broncos.

Can they bring a CSB tap handle back to Wayin?  Matt Klich, has been brewing for over 14 years.  His HMS SkipJack, a Strong British Bitter (11C), won second prize in the 2015 CBS judged competition.  He’s since joined Wayin as their Lead DevOps and joined batch-sparging forces with Paul Rizzo, a Senior Software Engineer at Wayin. Paul has been brewing for almost two years.  He’s most proud of his Imperial IPA, which had a “clean taste with a good amount of hops and not too malty.”

Colorado Startup Brews members can taste Matt’s and Paul’s IPAs at McNichols Civic Center on Friday, September 9th.  More information on Colorado Startup Brews can be found at http://www.costartupbrews.com/
