Convercent is looking for a VP of Finance to be a trusted partner and senior leader that will identify and execute actions that prepare us for our next stage of global growth. The successful VP of Finance is a customer oriented leader that has prior experience growing a global accounting and finance organization. The VP of Finance is directly responsible for preparing and delivering all final board, management packages and presentations. Reporting to the COO, the VP of Finance is innovative and strategically minded while supporting the execution of daily operational tactics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and thoughtful leadership to the accounting and finance teams
- Prepare proactive reporting and analysis of key performance measurement indicators including all revenue and expense drivers.
- Convey KPIs, revenue and expense drivers through conversation, examples and stories that your audience (the board and management team) can internalize and understand
- Implement relative process and procedures to educate Convercent team members and help control expense drivers
- Develop short-term and long-term strategies for managing debt facilities and liquidity with future funding rounds
- Oversee the annual budgeting process and rolling 3-year/ forecast model
- Oversee the monthly accounting close process. Includes preparing management and investor reporting that shares the full view of the health of the business against goals and extends beyond just providing the data
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures across all countries
- Oversee audit process with Convercent’s “Big 4” accounting firm and proper filing of tax returns for all countries
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
- Initiate and lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of a new ERP system
- Represent the Company to outside partners, including customers, investors, lenders and auditors
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience building and managing accounting and finance teams
- Direct experience working for a venture backed high growth SaaS enterprise company
- Experience managing global accounting and finance teams that have entities in multiple countries
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, valuation, financial analysis and deal structure experience
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
Preferred Skills:
- CPA
- Experience with multi-currency accounting
- Familiarity with foreign exchange risks and mitigants
- Experience working in high-growth, dynamic environments with the ability to adapt to change and re-prioritize
- Prior experience completing a systems conversion
