The Role

Aten Design Group is seeking a skilled UX Strategist to join our team. UX Strategists collaborate closely with our clients, their website audiences, and our internal team to translate research from high-level strategies into detailed documentation. They can expertly communicate complex topics into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders and tactical direction for team members. They are self-motivated, highly organized, and flexible in their approach based on client needs.  This is a fully remote position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and based in one of the following states: Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, Michigan, Maryland, Kansas, Illinois, Minnesota, Tennessee, or Massachusetts.

About You

You love working with organizations that make an impact. You are eager to collaborate to deliver better web-based experiences. You have experience with qualitative and quantitative user research and translating the findings into actionable documentation for creative and technical teams. You can understand complex topics to help clients tell their stories, involve various stakeholders in the planning process, and collaborate with teams to bring that experience to life. You are very organized and can balance priorities and timelines. You believe the user comes first and have experience developing surveys, interviews, user profiles, and journey maps. You also have experience architecting content by creating sitemaps, content models, and wireframes. You have used testing tools to evaluate and ensure your work meets user and stakeholder needs. You understand the importance of creating detailed documentation for designers and developers.

 

 

About the Position

You will be working with some of the most impactful cause-driven organizations to help them use their website to drive their mission and create meaningful connections with their users. You will work with clients, stakeholders, and end users to establish clear goals, understand UX needs, and evaluate website content. Using this knowledge, you will be responsible for defining the vision for the product and working with Aten’s developers to structure content in a way that works toward those goals and user needs. You will create sitemaps, wireframes, and structural documentation that supports the goals identified in your research. You will test and evaluate our work to ensure its success. You will work closely with our project management, design, and engineering teams throughout the full lifecycle of the project to communicate key information and continuously refine the course of a project to meet user and stakeholder priorities. Your participation in client presentations will include facilitating virtual workshops and collaboration, articulating findings, and guiding the project through creative ideas based on your research.

Well-qualified candidates will have experience in the following:
 

  • A minimum of 3 years facilitating and analyzing user experience research - as well as implementing and communicating the findings to clients and teams
  • Creating, distributing and analyzing surveys using tools such as SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, Google Forms
  • Facilitating remote collaboration and workshops for diverse stakeholder groups
  • Evaluating site analytics through tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, and Optimal Workshop 
  • Advocating for user-centered, research-based solutions 
  • Content audits, content mapping, and other content strategy exercises
  • Creating sitemaps and wireframes
  • Analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Collaborating with team members and clients to maintain effective and positive relationships
  • Working and communicating with people from different disciplines and backgrounds who have varying degrees of technical knowledge
  • Ensuring a product delivers on the desired outcome by providing feedback on a product backlog
  • Conducting quality assurance (QA) testing to ensure the implementation is in line with the proposed architecture and design

Nice to haves:

  • Experience planning the structure of digital content for modern content management systems, like Drupal and WordPress
  • Agency & remote-based company experience
  • Experience with user analytics dashboards, data visualization, and analysis of large-scale datasets
  • Experience working with large-scale, mission-driven organizations and institutions
  • Experience with brand, SEO, and other digital content strategies
  • Experience facilitating equity-driven community engagement outreach and participatory involvement for diverse audiences
