Talent Development Manager – Sales & Technical Training
Role Summary: The Technical Sales Training Manager is responsible for understanding the global Arrow-wide business strategy, sales talent capability, and technology needs. With this as a foundation, the manager will partner with the sales vertical talent development manager (SVTDM) and Global Engineering team to identify how best to close talent gaps through customized training programs for sales employees. They will also partner to develop and recommend high level training methodologies and strategies appropriate for use across the global organization. This role will act as a technical sales subject matter expert who partners with HR, Engineering, and business leaders to identify and implement appropriate solutions, approaches, and methodologies to accelerate talent capabilities of sales incumbents and sales leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with the SVTDM to understand development priorities and then translates those priorities into appropriate programmatic solutions
- Design, create, and deliver learning and development programs based on the identified training needs of the organization
- Partner with the Engineering team in order to update, develop, and implement Technology Training modules relevant to Arrow products and services.
- Educate sales team on the fundamental technical concepts, terminology, and technologies related to our industry
- This role provides expertise and recommendations related to technical selling requirements
- Program management of sales and technology related development curricula, courses and sessions
- Responsible for developing and managing technology and sales-specific onboarding requirements, and partnering with the global TM process team and regional TM directors to embed with managers, new hires and internal transfers
- Research available education approaches and utilize best practices in Arrow implementations
- Partner with the SVTDM to identify, select, and manage vendors for design and delivery of learning programs
- Manages significant complex global sales development projects
- Consults with HR, regional TM, and the business, making recommendations on programmatic learning
- Monitor and evaluate the impact/value/ROI of technology and sales training programs

Capabilities/Skills:
- Understanding of sales strategy, sales operations, and sales process best practices
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer management skills (e.g., account/opportunity management, sales call navigation, consultative skills, etc.)
- Ability to conduct needs analysis to identify sales skill gaps and needs
- Ability to design and implement high-impact training technical selling programs
- Outstanding platform and facilitation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to grasp new ideas and change direction quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Must have proficient technical writing skills
- Must have good understanding of electronic fundamentals
- A self-starter; self-motivated, driven and resourceful
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of design, development and/or delivery experience in the areas of Technology, sales skills, and sales leadership
- Previous experience in Technical Sales is needed (electronics industry in highly preferred)
- Program management and implementation experience needed
- Strong technical and virtual learning facilitation skills needed, with experience in conducting effective training webinars
- Knowledge of MS Office, with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint (2007 preferred)
- Ability to travel (up to 30%)
