The Impact of a Strategic Value Advisory Director at Coupa:

The Strategic Value Advisory Director is a customer-facing strategic consultant who partners with account executives and solution advisory to lead value-focused engagements for large enterprise and upper–mid-market organizations (typically F2000). You will work across the sales lifecycle—from early demand generation through deep discovery, business case development, executive alignment, and late-stage deal execution.

In this role, you will help customers articulate their current-state challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and translate those opportunities into quantified outcomes tied to Coupa’s capabilities. You will guide account teams with structured analysis, compelling storytelling, and a value-first lens that accelerates customer confidence and decision-making.

This is an individual contributor role requiring strong analytical skills, executive communication, and the ability to navigate ambiguous environments with creativity and independence.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with account teams throughout the sales lifecycle to shape deal strategy, acting as a deal captain to ensure value is consistently positioned and commercial narratives are aligned.
  • Lead high-quality discovery with senior stakeholders across sourcing, finance, and supply chain to understand strategic objectives, current processes, and organizational constraints.
  • Develop robust business cases and ROI models that quantify achievable outcomes, focusing on improved savings rates, process efficiencies, and working capital optimization.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and target metrics through a compelling storytelling arc.
  • Support territory planning to identify value-led pipeline opportunities while collaborating with Value Advisory peers to contribute reusable assets and insights.

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Possess 10+ years of experience in management consulting, business transformation, or practitioner roles within finance, supply chain, or procurement enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with proficiency in building business cases (Excel) to translate complex data into meaningful executive insights and ROI models.
  • Exhibit confident communication and storytelling skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions, and facilitating value-based conversations.
  • Bring a self-starting, creative mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity, tailor frameworks, and support organizational change or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in SaaS sales, pre-sales, or services delivery is preferred, including familiarity with CRM tools (SFDC) and cloud delivery models.
  • Hold a BA/BS degree (required); an MBA in Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.

The estimated pay range for this role is $182,000 - $200,000 + eligibility for commission

The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.

Coupa complies with relevant laws and regulations regarding equal opportunity and offers a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
