This position is primarily remote, with occasional visits to a local office or our corporate headquarters for team-building, training, and collaborative project work. These on-site sessions are designed to strengthen connections, share insights, and ensure a seamless experience for our team and customers. Equipment pick-up from a local branch will be required. We will  provide advance notice whenever on-site attendance is required, making these times purposeful and rewarding.

Sunrun is on a mission to make solar energy affordable for more people. We help people upgrade their home to solar energy without the big upfront costs. Sunrun is dedicated residential solar company in the country and has a mission to bring clean, solar power service to the masses.

This position reports to our Lehi, UT office. May telecommute. Requires ~5% travel to Sunrun offices throughout the U.S. for leadership meetings related to business planning, strategy alignment, and implementation initiatives. Salary offered: $206,000/ year.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of product strategies that combine business analytics and advanced data science methods to optimize solar customer experience and reduce operational inefficiencies.

  • Translate complex business needs into data-informed product requirements by analyzing patterns in customer behavior, operational bottlenecks, and financial performance trends.

  • Develop internal business cases and ROI analyses to prioritize features based on value contribution, customer impact, and alignment with company objectives.

  • Ensure data governance, data quality assurance, and compliance across all product solutions, especially those involving customer and financial data handling.

  • Define and drive the end-to-end product vision for intelligent and scalable customer lifecycle platforms - including data driven onboarding, billing, finance, supply chain and other features - in a highly regulated and operationally complex energy environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, finance, and operations to define and build intelligent systems using data and advance algorithms for seamless onboarding, shipments, billing & other automations.

  • Guide product initiatives that involve predictive analytics, machine learning integration, and real-time data reporting to enhance decision-making and resource allocation. Lead efforts to automate extraction, transformation, and analysis of structured and unstructured data.

  • Work closely with enterprise architects to ensure product solutions align with long-term data architecture, integration requirements, and cloud infrastructure best practices. Ensure data governance and platform scalability by aligning product development with enterprise architecture standards and long-term cloud infrastructure strategies.

  • Evaluate and optimize product performance using A/B testing methodologies, KPIs such as adoption, churn reduction, and operational cost savings—drawing on analytics expertise to inform iterative improvements. Design product experimentation frameworks, partnering with analysts and data engineers to evaluate performance, validate hypotheses, and improve key business metrics.

  • Create and manage product roadmaps using agile principles to prioritize work based on strategic objectives, ROI, customer impact, and cross-departmental dependencies.

Qualifications:
 

  • Master’s in Business Analytics or Data Science

  • 5 years of experience as a CIS Manager, using agile methodology, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Lucidchart, Miro, Figma, NLP, AI algorithms and segmentation, Python, SQL, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, GCP, AWS, Google Analytics, Snowflake, Tableau, Looker, Power BI, A/B testing, RESTful APIs, and Postman.
