Senior Data Engineer

Suited Connector (SuCo) is looking for a collaborative and self-driven Senior Data Engineer to join our tenacious Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining high-quality data models, data infrastructure, and data science capabilities in partnership with the core tech services team and business analysts that will directly impact critical business decisions.
Areas That Will Play to Your Strengths (all the responsibilities we’ll trust you with, no pressure 😉):
- Data Pipeline Development: You will build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from various sources using Python, Apache Airflow, Lambda functions, and SSIS.
- Data Architect: You will design and build SQL based DBT models to support the data and analytical needs of the company.
- Documentation: You will create and maintain comprehensive system documentation of data engineering processes, system configurations and data models.
- Complex Problem Solving: You will identify and resolve complex data-related issues and will apply advanced analytical techniques to diagnose and address root causes.
- Continuous Improvement: You will drive continuous improvement initiatives in our data infrastructure by evaluating existing processes and systems and providing recommendations to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Team Player: You will participate in a rotating on call DevOps schedule to support infrastructure.
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Experience/Education: You will have 5+ years of relative marketplace experience OR 3+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.
- AWS Toolkit: You have experience with numerous AWS tools including S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda Functions, CodeBuild, CodePipelines, ECS Fargate and AppRunner. You also have experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or similar DataOps frameworks to build AWS resources.
- ETL Tools: You have expertise with with any of ETL tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or similar
- Data Skills: You have strong proficiency in Python with working knowledge of fetching data from various APIs, and manipulating data from files (Excel, csv, GSheet) using pandas and dataframes.
- Software Engineering Practices: You know coding standards, code reviews, pair programming, source control management, build processes, and automated testing.
- SQL Expertise: You have advanced knowledge and experience building SQL based data models, macros, and user-defined functions, using DBT and Snowflake.
- Source Control Systems: You are comfortable using source control systems and their associated ecosystems (Git and Github/Bitbucket).
- Bonus Points: Experience with ML/AI
- Communication is Key: You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for various stakeholders.
- Team Player & Continuous Learner: You exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, a collaborative mindset, leadership qualities to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and a drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

The Other Details You Really Want to Know:
- Preferred Locations: Hybrid - Colorado preferred
- Base Salary Range: i.e., $120,000 - $150,000
- Competitive bonus in addition to base salary compensation
- Status: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt
