Software Engineer
The Software Engineer will collaborate with designers, developers and product managers to develop and support Healthgrades’ suite of patient-focused decision-support sites; ensuring a consistent, engaging interface that creates a strong brand impression and ensures a high return from ad-supported and report-based revenues.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of professional web development in a high-traffic, public-facing web environment.
- Experience developing data driven web applications in ASP.net (MVC 4) in a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Experience in mobile web technologies including responsive design for various size devices.
- Experience building RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles and best practices.
- Strong understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.) and technologies (CSS, HTML).
- Mastery of databases (SQL Server) and search engines (Solr).
- Experience with JavaScript and other web technologies (XHTML, CSS, Ajax, Json, etc.).
- Understanding of version control techniques (Git, Subversion, TFS 2010).
- Test-driven development (TDD) and creating unit tests.
- Up-to-date knowledge of latest trends in web application development.
- Familiar with Web APIs like Amazon EC2, Salesforce, Google, and Bing.
- Ability to contribute to a culture of communication, collaboration and creativity.
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field is required.
- A strong candidate will have 5+ years of professional web development, a proven track record developing public-facing web sites and a general passion for web-development.
