What will you do? You will be responsible for software testing, working within a product team and with the individuals on that team to execute our technical testing strategies, including our test automation strategy. You will also provide technical advice and assistance on test tools, test planning, and test design – with an emphasis on test automation. You will provide recommendations in regards to technical approaches, deployments, tool uses, and integrations. 

Who are you?

  • You are an early adopter of tools and technology and understand that the automation of tests and other tasks is one component of a good quality engineer.
  • You bring your brain to work. You’re not a rookie and you know how to assess a situation or platform and recommend solutions.
  • Because you’re a professional, you know what needs to be done and you know how to work with stakeholders to make it happen.
  • You’re a Software Tester that has worked within different SDLC methodologies (Agile, waterfall, etc.).
  • You understand how to design a testing solution based on good testing practices and you use test automation concepts and tools to enhance that solution.
  • You’re able to research root causes around issues and identify, recommend and execute solutions.
  • You’ve contributed to automation strategies and you write tests using tools and other technology forums based on your deep testing knowledge.
  • You are a technical testing expert and you have created and/or contributed to one or more testing frameworks and you can speak to the differences between them.
  • You can provide informal knowledge transition and/or hands-on training with other team members.
  • You have the ability to adapt and learn from coworkers and share information and experiences in a variety of communication modes.
  • You are flexible and adaptable when needed, but you know when to deep dive and focus on the task at hand.
  • You both contribute to and consume from the Software Testing community in the form of writing or speaking and stay up on current trends and technologies in order to enhance your career and professional development.

What you bring to the table: 

  • You have experience with: object-oriented programming languages (C#, Java), .NET technologies, SQL/TSQL (including DML/DDL/function commands), stored procedures, DB Tracing, DB Profiling/SQL Profiler, impact analysis, DB sharding, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, XPath.
  • You have expertise and a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and can consult on coding to support test automation.
  • You have experience in Web Services (SOAP, REST) and automated testing tools (g., Selenium, WebDriver API, SoapUI, Cucumber) and mobile and performance testing strategies.
  • You have experience with scripting languages, preferably Windows PowerShell and batch scripting.
  • You know how to integrate third party APIs/tools from GITHUB or any other open sources as automation needs arise.
  • You have strong working knowledge and implementation practice of software development life-cycle and testing tools.
  • You like to learn and actively seek new skills and knowledge to keep up with the changing technology field, including bringing new ideas to the team.
