Roles & Responsibilities
The Sr. Manager Technical Competitive Strategy role at Zoom is an exciting and rewarding position. This individual will focus on understanding market trends and analyzing the competitive landscape to improve Zoom’s technical go-to-market strategy. We are looking for a Competitive Technical Leader who can shape go-to-market strategy through competitive intelligence analysis, market research and monitoring regional trends.
In this role, you will be an integral cross functional partner to leadership, sales and marketing. You will create processes to monitor the competitive landscape and provide strategic insight and recommendations. Must be able to operate autonomously and effectively prioritize initiatives to maximize impact and Zoom revenue.
What you will do:
Become a Subject Matter Expert in established and disruptive competitors
Leading the voice of the buyer win-loss program, conducting direct interviews and distilling reasons lost/churned insights to help improve go-to-market and product efforts
Collaborate with sales operations in gathering and disseminating technical competitive information during different stages of the sales process
Execute deep technical research and tear-down on tier 1 competitors through different channels including competitive labs, customer direct conversations, and deliver actionable and current competitive updates to the sales and technical sales organizations
Working with internal teams and translating competitive insights into actionable field enablement tools such as battlecards
Provide insights to product management on relevant technology advancements made by competitors
Understand technology trends relevant to our market space to identify opportunities to differentiate and threats with respect to technical competitive positioning
Support research on business focused competitive developments through different channels including market research, industry analyst, win-loss analysis and general surveys
Experience and Skills
Experience building a Competitive Function from the grown up
10+ years of experience in technology (SaaS, Collaboration, Enterprise Software preferred)
8+ years of experience in product management, competitive intelligence, product marketing, or sales engineering roles
Experience consolidating, preparing and delivering Executive level communications and business data
Ideally, you have an Engineering, Computer Science degree or similar experience. Having a technical background is a must
Have experience working in a matrix environment with excellent communication and collaboration skills to build trusting relationships
Be able to analyze data, set priorities, and shape results in a corporate environment
Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers
