We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Environmental Engineer to support our environmental initiatives in Orange County, CA.
The ideal candidate will have strong background in hazardous waste management, environmental engineering with a focus on air quality & chemical inventory management manufacturing and R&D settings. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure environmental impact assessments, mitigation strategies and regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations, including hazardous materials, waste management, water and air quality to meet industry standards
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Orange County Sanitation District (OC Sans), SMARTs, and CERs
- Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with environmental regulatory requirements
- Support the development and implementation of sustainability programs to reduce company’s carbon footprint, energy usage, waste and resource consumption
- Assist with Environmental incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
- Serve as the key liaison with employees, management, customers, auditors, and regulators
- Conduct environmental inspections to identify and document and address environmental hazards
- 3+ years if experience in overseeing hazardous waste management, environmental engineering or environmental compliance, ideally within the aerospace, manufacturing or
R&D settings - Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners
- Experience with 40 CFR Parts 260-279 for Hazardous Waste Management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Experience in environmental engineering safety with a strong focus in Hazardous Waste Management
- HAZWOPER 40-hour, and RCRA/DOT certifications are a plus
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
