VP of Business Development
Devetry is seeking to hire a talented VP of Business Development to join the thriving company. The VP of Business Development’s top priority will be building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and closing new business. Ideal candidates must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills and have experience building relationships and executing sales focused on custom software development services. The VP of Business Development will work directly under Devetry’s CEO, ensuring that pipeline measures against Devetry’s annual top-line revenue goals.
The following are a list of responsibilities that are expected from the VP of Business Development:
Pipeline Growth and Management - it is expected that the VP of Business Development will help define and perform the necessary activity required to build an ever-growing sales pipeline. Examples of expected activity include, but is not limited to:
Attending local networking events, conferences, and meetups (events will be identified in collaboration with Marketing)
Entertaining current and prospective clients
Creating a list of desired prospective customers, refining an appropriate list of contacts at those companies, and ensuring that outreach is creative, tasteful, and consistent to drive sales
Close Collaboration with Marketing - it is imperative that the VP of Business Development works closely with the marketing team, leveraging each other to define sound sales and marketing strategies that will ultimately lead to meeting Devetry’s annual revenue goals.
Close Collaboration with Operations - timing for new opportunities is a big factor in Devetry’s industry and professional services. It is important for the VP of Business Development to work closely with Devetry’s operations team to understand the status of current projects, ensuring appropriate timing measures can be applied to future opportunities and demand for pipeline.
Close Collaboration with Management Team - for strategic planning purposes, it is important that managing members of the company fully understand, at all times, the condition of the sales pipeline and sales projections. The VP of Business Development will be in charge of organizing and leading weekly meetings to review the pipeline and new opportunities in order to allow members of the management team to weigh in on the sales strategies. It is expected that the VP of Business Development plays “quarterback” and pulls the CEO and CTO in on appropriate meetings with prospects to help close deals.

Ultimate team player with strong people skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desire to work primarily outside of the office and out in the field is a must (60/40)
Diligence in logging all activity in Salesforce.com CRM
Strong sales experience in the technical professional services industry
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this role will include a combination of base salary and commission.
