Mission of this Position:

Your mission as the Strategic Relationship Manager is to identify, understand, and develop new markets, channels, and strategic partners for Zera Hemp Labs. You’ll often be the first person that our clients and partners interact with, so your knowledge, empathy, and professionalism will set the tone for our relationships with them and the value they see in our brand.  In addition, as a leader within the company, you’ll help others understand our clients and partners and will be an advocate for optimizing our brand and products for the market. This position reports to the CEO.

Outcomes You’ll be Responsible for:

  • Building our Brand – Through personal connection and outreach, help establish our presence in the hemp testing market and promote the brand vision of Zera Hemp Labs and the value it brings both to hemp operators and to testing labs.
  • Competitive Analysis – Develop a sound understanding of our competitors to provide market and competitor analysis, using this to inform future brand positioning and messaging. 
  • Industry Knowledge – Develop, maintain, and share deep industry knowledge, including emerging market trends. Evaluate how Zera can leverage them to increase our footprint and reach. 
  • Market Identification and Development – Research, identify and develop new lead sources and opportunities for Zera with hemp operators, testing labs, and other strategic partners. 
  • Key Accounts and Strategic Partnerships – Identify and evaluate potential key accounts and strategic partners. Develop opportunities within those relationships to increase our reach and meet our revenue goals. Manage these high-level relationships with consistency and professionalism, and in a way that always adds value to our clients and partners.
  • Data and Tracking – Create and maintain reliable pipelines and forecasts for key accounts, strategic partnerships, and other opportunities.

Job Requirements:

Ideally, you will have a blend of the following job-specific skills and experience. Experience in all the areas below is not required, but these or related areas of experience are desirable:

  • Sales or business development experience including identifying and developing new lead sources, and identifying and assessing the opportunity potential for key accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills including the ability to develop sales and presentation materials, express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely, and speak publicly.
  • Customer experience including assessing customer needs and pain points and offering solutions that deliver amazing customer results.
  • Ability to represent Zera in the industry at conferences, trade shows, local meetups, and virtual events to drive brand awareness and value. Ability to travel occasionally to these events.
  • CRM software experience including using customer and opportunity tracking tools to develop and maintain accurate forecasts and reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or equivalent experience
  • 3 or more years of sales or business development experience
  • Experience with a startup company 
  • Proficient in CRM software, i.e. Hubspot, Salesforce, Zoho, or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite
  • Willingness to travel

Additionally, you must have authorization to work in the US.

This role is mostly remote, though we do have in-person meetings periodically in the greater Denver area.
