Strategic Alliances Manager

The Opportunity: 

The Strategic Alliances Manager is responsible for the primary oversight and strategic alignment between Marketo and some of Marketo's most strategic alliance partnerships, e.g., Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of building and managing relationships in complex business partnerships, as well as defining and driving the execution of field programs.
 
 
Responsibilities:

 

  • Identify, plan and execute joint marketing campaigns with Marketo’s key strategic business partners and aligned with Marketo’s business goals and partners’ strategic plans.
  • Define and implement appropriate field programs and champion field-to-field collaboration between Marketo and strategic partners
  • Produce and manage business cases for partner ecosystems in collaboration with Product Marketing and Product Management
  • Support an end-to-end partner marketing operational process, covering campaign design through partner execution. Conduct periodic business reviews with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure metrics are established and target goals set for all meaningful elements to be measured. Periodically communicate results against metric targets, including lessons learned and success stories.
  • Educate partner sales organization to promote and refer net new business to Marketo
  • Conduct market analysis and develop understanding of key business issues in potential partner ecosystems or verticals

 

Required Skills/Experience:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience in experience with a mix of sales, business development and/or alliance management roles in enterprise software.  Past experience at or with one of our strategic partners is highly desired.
  • Direct sales experience is highly preferred, although this is not a quota carrying role
  • Domain knowledge in 2 of the following areas: CRM, Content Management Systems, Ecommerce, Digital Agencies
  • Proven ability to recognize, analyze, and take action on go to market approaches, marketing programs, joint value propositions, and business cases around strategic partnerships.
  • Cross-functional influence, relationship building, and project management skills, willing to take leadership role in driving initiatives, working across organizations, and structuring approaches to new opportunities. 
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation abilities.
  • Positive, upbeat and assertive personality
  • Versatility, flexibility, and enthusiasm to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

Our new office is in the Denver City Center near plenty of shops and restaurants. We also have amazing views of the Rocky Mountains from our windows.
