As a Sales Engineer for Cloud Elements, you will extend the Global Technical Sales (GTS) team by strategizing with your account executives, deliver presentations, demonstrations, manage the technical validation process, understand the competitive landscape, attend conferences, deliver proof-of-concepts and own the technical relationship with prospective customers.

This key position will own a significant portion of the decisions and responsibilities in the technical sales process. Cloud Elements SE's are expected to take great initiative and think critically to understand customers' problems and design viable end-to-end solutions.

The ideal candidate is a high energy individual with experience in SaaS and Cloud software, integration solutions, API strategies, cloud architecture, and related technologies. Experience as a software developer, preferably in an enterprise environment, is a plus. 

What you will do:

  • Partner with your Account Executives to own the technical win on growth and strategic opportunities and define a technical sales strategy for each prospect

  • Guide prospects through the technical sales cycle from requirements gathering, to solutioning, proof-of-concept, technical close and transition to Customer Success

  • Be the trusted technical advisor to CTO’s, Product Managers, Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, Developers, other senior technologists

  • Gather, analyze and translate business needs into technical solutions, aiming for repeatability in addressing industry challenges with our next-gen API integration platform

  • Prepare and present product demonstrations, predefined solutions, and tailored integrations, using Cloud Elements’ technology

  • Create, plan and deliver meaningful Proof of Concept implementations and pilot projects with scoped use cases and success-criteria within predetermined timelines

  • Create reusable assets, demos, architectures, and solutions to share across the team

  • Research APIs and 3rd party integration capabilities, across many cloud services from ERP to Finance, HRIS, CRM - and more

  • Lead hands-on workshops, training, presentations, demos and solutioning for technical and business audiences, both remote and through in-person working sessions

  • Evangelize our products in person and online by presenting at conferences, blogging, writing technical tutorials, and other similar activities.

  • Collaborate closely with the Solutions Team, Product Management and Customer Success on complex engagements, architecture, solution design and future roadmap

  • Demonstrate awareness of competitive products and their strategies

What we would like you to have:

  • 5+ years experience as a Sales Engineer, Presales Consultant, Solutions Architect and/or other technical sales roles, preferably with SaaS or related Cloud products

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field

  • Independent self-starter with the ability to own the technical relationship and drive to a close

  • MUST have proven experience with REST, JSON, JavaScript and API technologies

  • Experienced in architecting, demonstrating and delivering technical integration solutions

  • Ability to build and deliver Proofs of Concepts (PoCs), top-notch presentations and platform demonstrations that illustrate product differentiation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable and willingness to work in a team environment, with a strong sense of ownership for your opportunities

  • Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis - you will attend local, regional and national engagements, but may also be asked to travel internationally.
