The Senior Leader -- Business Development oversees the development of strategic, market/product business plans as well as marketing programs to support sales. By applying an analytical mind to available market and sales data, he/she will develop marketing programs that capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities. He/she is also an ideas-person who effectively communicates those ideas through presentations and strategic projects. The Day-to-Day

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures.
• Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs.
• Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence and implementing of strategic business objectives.
• Defines vision, strategies and tactics.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Develops corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizes their implementation.
• Detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas.
• Recognized as an influential leader, he/she provides direction to senior leaders in various areas, groups, and/or operations.
• Consistently works with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business.
• Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for major functional areas.
• Requires in-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies and the company's goals.
• Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups or service areas through senior leaders who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas.
