Faction, Inc. is a leader in deploying cloud infrastructure at scale. We are a profitable, venture-backed, rapidly-growing provider of private, hybrid-, and multi-cloud infrastructure. We design and deploy compute, storage, networking, and services for clients who need infrastructure at significant scale, driving those economies of scale to benefit our service provider and enterprise clients. We consult with our client on a variety of cloud migration and transformation efforts, and assist them in making the most of cloud infrastructure with a variety of managed services.

We currently seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our technical sales team.


Position Description

Solutions Engineers (SEs) are the primary technical resource for the field sales force (Business Development Managers = BDMs). SEs are the pre-sales resource that is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation & configuration stages of the sales process. The SE works in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The SE must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales & implementation process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.



·Responsible for presales technical support in qualifying opportunities to ensure that Faction capabilities are a match with the requirement

·Responsible for the development, and delivery of Product Briefs and Demonstrations

·Responsible for representing the Faction Product line to customers

·Responsibility for accuracy and completeness of customer configurations in territory

·Able to Travel to attend in-person Sales Meetings

·Able to support national accounts as needed

·Rapidly learn and develop expertise in the technologies relevant to the Infrastructure as a Service and General “Cloud” domain



Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in Cloud sales and knowledge of technology. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, proposals, and when submitting reports. Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches. Must be prepared for extensive travel.

-          3-5+ Years relevant experience in Vendor Sales

-          10+ Years relevant experience in Technology Related Field

-          Experience and familiarity with Cloud Solutions

-          Experience with Enterprise Stack (VMWare, Intel, Enterprise Storage)

-          Experience with Service Providers is Strongly Preferred

-          A B.S. in Computer Science or Related Field Strongly Preferred


Travel requirements – up to 50%
