Roles & Responsibilities
Currently, we are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our Zoom Virtual Engineering (ZVE) team.
Zoom Virtual Engineering (ZVE) leverages an innovative digital platform built on the expertise of our virtual solutions engineers to scale and accelerate Zoom's SMB go to market motion. The ideal ZVE Senior Solutions Engineer is passionate about our UCaaS vision and will have exceptional experience in Cloud Meetings, Cloud Video, Cloud Voice in addition to having deep knowledge of legacy PBX/telephony systems. The Senior Solutions Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert for our sales teams and our customers in SMB and be responsible to help meet revenue goals by driving creative programs in partnership with our SMB Sales teams. This individual will lead the technical development enablement strategy for ZVE, partner with Zoom's Global Architecture team and Product teams to represent the needs of our SMB customers.
The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have a background in telephony, video and applications sales, knowledge of Zoom communication platform (Chat, Meetings, Video, Phone, Marketplace/API) and/or competitive equivalent.
Knowledge of Microsoft and application based competition (Microsoft, Five9, Amazon, Twilio, RingCentral, 8x8, Cisco, Genesys, Avaya, Pexip, etc) and expert level collaboration certifications such as CCIE are desirable.
As a ZVE Solution Architect you will be:

  • Designing next generation communication solutions for Zoom customers
  • Conducting demo and proof of concepts for prospective Zoom customers
  • Solution and architectural design and selling
  • Building competitive intelligence
  • Working Across Multiple Boundaries
  • Driving the Zoom Vision with subject matter expertise across Zoom Platform
  • Handling escalations from ZVE Solution Engineers
  • Leading the technical enablement strategy for ZVE


Skills Required

  • Provide high-level technical support to all Zoom Phone customers
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and terminology including LAN/WAN, Routers, Firewalls, Switches, PBX deployment, TCP/IP (IPv4), DNS, etc.
  • Apply expert knowledge of Zoom Communication services and phone technology
  • Responsible for training customer administration of Zoom Phone platform
  • Ability to answer complex technical questions in a clear, concise, and understandable manner
  • Must have the ability to understand a customer's network and relevant infrastructure quickly and pinpoint integration possibilities
  • Responds promptly to escalations while keeping detailed case notes
  • Manage escalated issues and collaborate with other internal departments to expedite resolution
  • Help develop and maintain customer-facing and internal help articles
  • Presales Engineering of VOIP solutions
  • Strong Business and Technical Acumen and executive presence
  • SaaS Collaboration sales experience i.e. web conferencing, cloud voice, UCaaS
  • Excellent communication and Presentation skills
  • Create, present and document technical solutions
  • Ability to present topics in a clear and concise manner to many levels of technical skill sets and audience sizes
  • Expert level solution sales ability

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical industry experience (UCaaS, Telephony/VoIP)
  • 6+ years in a customer facing technical role required
  • Thorough competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings.
  • Zoom Communication platform and end-to-end positioning required
  • BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent experience
