We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer t o join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
Uplight is hiring for an experienced Sales Engineer to serve as a technical guide from opportunity prospects to deal closure. You will partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex and lengthy sales cycles. This will include gathering and synthesizing technical information from prospects to produce customized software demos, answering technical and product related questions, and supporting discovery to ensure our solutions meet the technical and business needs of our customers. Further, you will work closely with cross-functional teams at Uplight to ensure our Request for Proposal (RFP), proposal submissions and Scope of Work documentation sufficiently and accurately address the technical and system requirements of our customers.

  • Lead product demonstrations throughout the sales cycle, including customizing demo journeys for specific and important use cases while ensuring a successful match between customer pain points and Uplight solutions.
  • Support and collaborate with Client Solutions Directors (Sales) in sales the discovery processes.
  • Support and collaborate with Client Solutions Directors and our customer's IT, security, and project management teams to dive deep into the technical architecture of the proposed solution.
  • Manage the completion of technical components of RFI/RFP/Proposal submissions alongside our Proposals team and in close collaboration with Product, Engineering and Implementation stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain Technical Engagement Document(s) to ensure business objectives and specific technical requirements can be met and integrations are fully understood post-sale.
  • Lead the creation, and finalization, of project Scope of Works (SOWs).
  • Facilitate the transition of SOWs post-sales to Uplight Implementation and Project Management teams.
  • Ensure demo environments are ready to meet needs for customer meetings and prospective interactions.

What you bring to Uplight:

  • Strong alignment and passion for Uplight values and mission.
  • 5+ years of sales engineering experience in supporting sales cycles for six and seven figure B2B SaaS products/deployments.
  • Experience in Utility industry strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally - buyers, sales, product management and project implementation teams
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% (post-COVID).

  • Formal SaaS software demonstration training (i.e. Great Demo).

Salary Range: $120,000 to $140,000
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
