As Senior Sales & Business Operations Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously in various programs across the sales spectrum, driving key recommendations and action plans to support growth and the management of sales forecasting.  You will enjoy high visibility with a team that shapes the focus and direction of our company and will establish yourself as a leader on our team. Your success is intricately and directly linked to the success of your internal clients in Sales. You will advise other team members on best practices and help them navigate the challenges of providing support to internal executive clients.

In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor and business partner to the go-to-market teams.  You will provide guidance and recommendations to the business to seize opportunities and to divest from areas that have minimal return or value.  This role will allow you to proactively turn analytics into insight, drive report and dashboard design, and play a crucial role supporting Sales, Marketing, and Executive management in making data-driven business decisions. Where necessary, you will serve as delegate to the team's manager.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and technical skill set, as well as strong communication skills to articulate complex models and concepts, and areas of strengths and weaknesses to business leaders. Specific Objectives and Responsibilities

 

  • Own the relationship with multiple parts of the business with regards to forecast management and analytical consulting
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Sales Operations, Business Intelligence, IT and other departments to drive new and/or improved reporting capabilities to support internal Sales clients
  • Work with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to develop, manage, and own quantitative sales forecast models to be used during weekly sales forecasting processes
  • Gather, analyze, and validate all data that will be used in preparing executional bookings forecasts
  • Leverage transactional and other data to identify underlying trends within the business and provide guidance to business leaders
  • Liaise cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Analytics and Business Intelligence to drive optimization of data sets, validate the accuracy of sell thru reporting, and other ad hoc needs
  • Review past forecasting performance and identify major forecast variances
  • Drive improvements in forecast modeling to offer greater insights with less effort; where we can’t migrate to Tableau, we’ll optimize our Excel modeling
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for improving the accuracy of future sales forecasts
  • Monitor the sales performance of new products and develop a history that can be used as a guide for future launches
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis, business modeling and decision support to senior executives and business leaders with recommendations to solve business issues and improve the strategic, operational, and financial model of the business

Skills & Experience

 

  • BS/BA in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting
  • 8+ years of sales analysis and forecasting experience, preferably in a high-tech environment
  • Superior analytical and modeling skills
  • Advanced Excel skills a must; must know and love XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, named ranges and the like
  • Solid Salesforce.com, SQL and Tableau skills highly preferred
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships across business functions and with executive-level personnel
  • Experience in a SaaS industry a plus; understanding of ACV/TCV, ARR and renewal rates preferred
  • Must be a well-rounded top performer with a combination of analytical and communication skills, execution-oriented and attention to timelines
  • Ability to present complex business analysis in a clear and concise manner
