Job Position: Senior Accountant

Position Location: Louisville, CO

We are searching for a Senior Accountant, who is a team player, willing to be hands-on, able to manage a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis, and able to consistently meet month-end close deadlines. Position Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Close Process
    • Responsible for monthly close process ensuring the team adheres to the stated timelines.
    • Ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and detail is substantiated regularly for both US and foreign entities.
    • Prepare or review and post journal entries as needed to account for monthly transactions.
    • Must have a strong understanding of GL accounting; ensure that financial transactions are correctly recorded through the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Must be able to work independently to investigate and resolve any reconciling differences to ensure accounts are properly stated each month.
    • Work with 3rd party foreign accountants to ensure account details are understood and reconciled each month.
    • Responsible for approval of checks/wires to vendors, posting AP batches, and payment and recording of tax payments as provided by our 3rd party accountants.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Responsible for monthly financial reporting to parent and lender
    • Provide 3rd party foreign accountants with information for VAT filings; work with 3rd party accountants on annual audits and other statutory reporting requests.
    • Responsible for annual financial statements and assistance with the annual audit
    • General ledger and external reporting maintenance and consolidation for multi-level, international company structure.
    • Analyze actual versus plan expenses and explain variances.
  • Other/Adhoc
    • Work with Accounting Manager on acquisitions to set up entities in our GL (Microsoft Dynamics GP), create SKUs, create new GL accounts, load AP, AR and Fixed Assets and map the acquisition’s accounts to our accounts.
    • Work closely with Controller, Assistant Controller, other accounting staff, and salespeople to provide reports, analyses, and other ad-hoc deliverables.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and then drive the implementation of the solution.
    • Effectively manage and execute on additional special projects as required.

 

Business and Technical Competencies:

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail skills required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), or other accounting systems and exporting reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning, and execution.
  • Strong experience with general ledger account reconciliations as well as reviewing sub-ledger detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in accounting or finance required.
  • 4-8 years of work experience in accounting related roles.
