Job Position: Senior Accountant

We are searching for a Senior Accountant, who is a team player, willing to be hands-on, able to manage a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis, and able to consistently meet month-end close deadlines. Primary responsibilities include reviewing sales orders for proper revenue treatment, VSOE testing, Accounts Receivable invoice batch review and posting, sales tax filings, and completing month-end balance sheet reconciliations. Position Responsibilities:

• Review sales orders to ensure proper revenue treatment. Includes evaluating the proper carve out of license revenue versus support revenue and related VSOE testing.

• Review and post receivable batches to ensure transactions are accurately coded.
• Perform, review, and complete certain month-end close procedures and reconciliations; including but not limited to revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and sales tax payable.
• Ensure that financial transactions are correctly recorded through the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• General ledger and external reporting maintenance and consolidation for multi-level, international company structure.
• Analyze actual versus plan and forecast revenue and bookings numbers and explain variances.
• Contract review for proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare revenue related reporting schedules and ad hoc reports.
• Works closely with Controller, Assistant Controller, other accounting staff, and salespeople to provide reports, analyses, and other ad-hoc deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and then drive the implementation of the solution.
• Effectively manage and execute on additional special projects as required.

Business and Technical Competencies:

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail skills required.
• Software revenue knowledge, including knowledge of VSOE preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), or other accounting systems and exporting reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including problem identification, analysis, action planning, and execution.
• Strong experience with general ledger account reconciliations as well as reviewing sub-ledger detail.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in accounting or finance required.
• 5-8 years of work experience in accounting related roles.
• At least 2+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a software environment.
