Position Summary

The Sales Manager, South Central will report to the Head of US Oncology Kits and Services Sales. The position will oversee at least 4 South Central Region Overlay OKS Sales Specialists to the Invitae Oncology team in order to develop business and sales within the clinical genetics sequencing verticals.

This position may be located in the South Central United States with Dallas, TX preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Achievement of territory sales revenues for the region
  • This is a management role. Will need to hire, develop and manage a team of direct reports within the assigned region
  • Direct execution of sales strategies and tactics, and implementation of Invitae’s sales and marketing plans.
  • Lead all aspects of the development and execution of team’s business plans for targeted accounts.
  • Complete a territory business analysis for management review on a quarterly basis.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with major stakeholders in the clinical testing market in the region
  • Work with internal clinical market development and marketing teams to deliver the product requirements for new panel development.
  • Use knowledge of genetics to drive service and kit revenue and strategy in a defined geography for clinical markets .
  • Responsibility for running an accurate forecast based on corporate timelines
  • Review, understanding, and compliance with Invitae’s HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
  • Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Processing and handling of European Union personal data only as directed by Invitae for purposes of personalized molecular pathology.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of sales experience in a relevant oncology industry/commercial environment (diagnostics, genetic testing, research products)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Experience within complex selling environments required.
  • 25-50% travel required

Preferred

  • Prior sales management experience preferred
  • Deep domain knowledge of the Oncology Diagnostic Services industry. Molecular Diagnostic experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling oncology or genetic based tests and services into the geneticists, pathologists, oncologists and clinicians.
  • Ability to demonstrate cross-functional relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals and objectives.
  • Advanced presentation skills and solid business acumen.
  • Problem solving, decision-making and technical learning.
  • Advanced written communication and presentation skills.
  • Drive and determination
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to efficiently move projects forward.
