Position Summary:

  • FIS is seeking a proven sales and business development professional with a demonstrated track record successfully promoting and selling software and services into the Commercial Lending groups at mid to large tier North American Banks and Financial Institutions.

You will be using your sales skills and ideally knowledge of Commercial Lending on both large and small complex projects in bringing the value of our solutions to your assigned account territory. Leveraging the pre-sales, marketing, technology and professional services team members throughout the sales cycle to demonstrate the value of our solutions and services. Ideal experience includes a strong history of meeting or exceeding goals for new sales, building pipeline and managing client relationships across complex client organizations.

  • Initiate contact with prospective customers to sell FIS' Commercial Lending products and services.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a team selling new and add-on business within a territory of key accounts.
  • Demonstrate product and market knowledge
  • Prepare and present proposals to clients utilizing FIS resources and tools.
  • Frequently work with executives and senior level managers at Tier 1, 2 and 3 banks
  • Negotiate, structure and close contracts that meet customer expectations and FIS's ability to deliver utilizing appropriate company resources
  • Keep FIS management updated on opportunity progress through regular reviews and by maintaining information in CRM systems


Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years proven track record in business development and strategic selling, strong interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex prospecting, business development, and sales engagements concurrently. Candidate must have an entrepreneurial approach that is imaginative, smart, passionate, and approachable. Successful candidate will design and implement a sales and territory strategy and effectively manage the sales cycle to include: lead generation, prospecting, white spacing, qualifying, business development, and closing mid ticket contract sales within an assigned territory of roughly 15-30 accounts.
Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Build a book of business through constant proactive prospecting, which result in meeting/exceeding annual quota targets through sales to new and existing customers alike
  • Leverage research skills, intra-company contacts, market data to qualify prospects and develop a calibrated target client list
  • Utilize strong lead generation capabilities to successfully penetrate client at all levels of organization through and including C-suite
  • Ability to identify different buyer motivations across various client bases and levels in order to expand potential revenue drivers
  • Incorporate customer perspective, drivers, product/service relevancy to deliver persuasive client presentations
  • Demonstrate customer advocacy by emphasizing those features/benefits of relevant FIS software, service offerings which meet specific customer' needs
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills in order to perform as a world class customer advocate
  • Continually acquire deeper technology and industry knowledge
  • Significant Travel is required up to 75% when permitted


Key Characteristics/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • Domain knowledge of Commercial Lending Origination, Commercial Credit Assessment or Commercial Loan Servicing
  • Domain knowledge of Bank Treasury Operations, Investment and Hedge Accounting, US Regulatory Reporting, Fixed Income markets
  • Demonstrates a passion for professional excellence and a drive to improve
  • Ability to understand objective and work independently or in collaboration with all internal partners, both horizontally and vertically within the organizational to successfully deliver objective
  • Deliver product presentations, answers prospect questions and is knowledgeable about prospect business needs.
  • Leverages product, industry and business process knowledge to formulate business solutions that serve prospect business needs.
  • Maintains a network of contacts keeping product knowledge current.
  • Constantly build and maintains an accurate pipeline & deal forecast
