(Senior) Talent Acquisition Manager

Apply online here!

Intro

At Unsupervised, the People Experience (PX) Team is fully empowered to explore new ways to deliver high value to employees and candidates alike. If that isn't enough to make you want to work here, it's worth noting that the colleagues, pay, and benefits are also pretty great.

Our team is growing, so we're looking for a Talent Acquisition (Senior) Manager with a knack for startups, a love of building processes/programs, and a level of experience that allows recruiting to be second nature (like tying your shoes). You will partner with the VP of People to think through strategy and will own driving recruiting from problem identification to vetted, fleshed-out solutions. This role can begin as an individual contributor, but will grow into a player/coach leadership role in the near future.

What is Unsupervised?

Unsupervised is an augmented analytics and data capitalization platform. In other words, we build tools that highlight our customer's highest value opportunities for changing their businesses.

We do this by surfacing groups or segments in their data that affect Key Performance Indicator (KPI) in significant ways. We then facilitate action plans, track measurable outcomes, and tie those outcomes back to the data and insights that drove them. This sets us apart from Business Intelligence (BI), which offers open-ended data visualization tools that expect users to know what question to ask and also how to translate that question into a visualization that answers it.

People Experience at Unsupervised

We design people-centric solutions to enable our mission-driven cutting-edge organization to take flight

The working style:

  • High EQ, ability to build trust, and robust communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity about what “better” looks like and how to make that a reality with your internal constituents and shared People Team
  • Ability to align one's own priorities with that of a customer-focused business
  • Passion for being both “builder” and “leader” in a constantly iterating and scaling environment
  • Obsession with continuous improvement and the ability to balance building for “now” vs. building for scale

We solve problems in order of scope and priority

This approach to Talent Acquisition (TA) entails:

  • Conscious effort to maintain big-picture thinking (“what’s the trickle-down effect of this choice?”)
  • Ability to identify, vet, and evangelize core table stakes of TA internally while preparing for the next phases of growth
  • A desire to create value for our hiring managers, candidates, and team
  • Efficiency and change management are challenges you geek out about and find compelling to solve for
  • A data-driven mindset; you influence with data vs. assumptions

We win by continuously meeting/exceeding the expectations of value for our internal customers and delivering on the hiring plan

This working model requires:

  • A relentless drive for results coupled with strong self sufficiency and resourcefulness
  • Deep expertise in Talent Acquisition, both as a full-cycle recruiter and as a functional leader (typically around 8+ years experience)
  • High accountability and the will to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Strong written, verbal communication and asynchronous collaboration skills
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and managing through change

What you’ll do

In this role, you will need the expertise to:

  • Own delivery of the hiring plan, acting as both the thought leader for Talent Acquisition (TA) and requisition carrying full-cycle recruiter. We are a small company and it’s all hands on deck.
  • Source, engage, and close highly competitive top 10% talent nationally in the areas of engineering (A.I., analytics), sales, product, design, and supporting business functions.
  • Build out and run our recruiting function mixing strategic and execution-oriented remits to craft new programs/processes.
  • Continuously ask “why” with a Solve-It mentality as we enhance our candidate & customer journey.
  • Report out on TA dashboards and capacity models with meaningful metrics; translate those numbers into actionable intelligence and targets.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, design recruiting strategies that are aligned with the business goals.
  • Prioritize, design, and rollout diversity, equity, and inclusion into all sourcing & hiring practices.
  • Consult with the business to coach, advise, and deliver training to improve our hiring practices and efficacy.
  • Be the internal expert on the talent market, advising (with data) and educating leadership on emerging trends, changing market conditions, and strategies to adapt.
  • Own the talent branding, recruitment advertising, social media recruiting, and events recruiting / community engagement strategy.

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in a fast paced recruiting environment, preferably for a fast-growth startup.
  • Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruiting.
  • Experience sourcing and attracting hard to find technology candidates as well as general office and business personnel.
  • You love working with people. You build relationships easily. You ask good questions. People say you are a good listener. You are deeply empathetic.
  • You can get things done. You’ve managed cross-functional teams and complex projects. Your prioritization skills and judgement are world-class. You’re detail oriented.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset. We’re a young company and things are messy. You find thrill in the challenge!

Compensation range

$95k – $135k + equity

Perks & Benefits

  • Great health, vision, and dental care
  • Competitive compensation
  • 401K match
  • Unlimited vacation
