The Pax8 University (Pax8 U) team is comprised of a Corporate College, Sales Enablement College and a Knowledge Management College, each focused on enabling Pax8 employees to effectively execute their roles and grow their skills and abilities to advance their careers.

Job Summary

Working alongside our sales enablement training team of instructors, and working closely with Pax8’s internal community of SME’s, stakeholders and vendors, you will design comprehensive learning programs that ensure knowledge transfer and application that enable our sales organization to achieve their sales targets. Content includes printed instructor-led materials, participant materials including guides, and exercises, e-learning courses, how-to videos and course assessments.

You are responsible for producing original training materials by writing training content, as well as parsing and customizing purchased, off-the-shelf soft-skills training.

In this role, you own the full content development lifecycle from identifying training needs, crafting learning objectives, curriculum design, program launch, evaluation and maintenance.

Who we are looking for

You are a curriculum developer with strong experience in learning design and applying multiple modalities of instruction with a background in a combination of direct sales, indirect sales, sales management and/or sales curriculum development. You have strong working knowledge of adult learning theory and how to make learning relevant and actionable. 

Curriculum Development

  • Understand the requirements for success for each of the roles within the sales organization and develop courseware to set these employees up for success in their current role and to graduate to their next position
  • Support product launches by working side by side with our vendors to develop product-specific training that aligns with Pax8’s sales methodologies
  • Develop courseware including instructor .ppt presentations, participant guides, job aids, practice activities, product reference materials, process guides and eLearning courses
  • Assess off-the-shelf soft skills training to identify the relevant topics and customize to meet Pax8 needs
  • Develop criteria to measure learner understanding and performance improvement
  • Create course assessments including questions, instruct-led assessments, and identify course success criteria

Learning Methodology

  • Keeps abreast of new and developing trends in training and adult learning and applies them to Learning Design initiative
  • Practical application of Adult Learning Theory and learning evaluation metrics
  • Familiarity with a variety of sales models and the ability to integrate best practices that will best enable the growth of the Pax8 sales organization

Analysis

  • Facilitate requirements gathering meetings with curriculum stakeholders to define the appropriate learning objectives, modalities and expectations
  • Analyze existing and emerging technologies and their use in the learning environment, and make recommended changes to existing courseware
  • Gather and produce information from a variety of sources such as textbooks, trade articles, online sources, and presentations or speaker notes from instructors to establish general knowledge and best practices
  • Success in evaluating and assessing instructional material and training programs

Communication & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Pax8 trainers to transform existing content into effective self-learning resources and/or incorporate interactivity into training
  • Partner with product management to develop sales content for new and existing products
  • Provide positive, ongoing, open communication and support to your team of educators
  • Collaborate with and maintain on-going dialogue with sales reps, sales management and the marketing team to ensure that education materials are current and consistent

Technical

  • Maintain and curate self-service learning library within the LMS and Pax8’s chosen role play platform
  • Proficient with common industry courseware development tools and software applications (Adobe e-learning suite, Captivate, Camtasia, Snagit, etc.)

Process

  • Contribute to improve Pax8 U processes and standards
  • Identify and help facilitate the process for changes to curriculum or courses offered

Quality/Assurance/Assessment

  • Use feedback, sales metrics and survey data to create new and improve existing courses
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks on the content, courseware format, and measurement criteria and make recommendations for improvement 

Requirements/Competencies

  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of recent experience in curriculum design and content development of instructor-led and computer-based training
  • A combination of direct sales, indirect sales sales management, and/or sales curriculum design experience with knowledge of a variety of sales methodologies
  • Demonstrated application of adult-based learning methodologies
