Position Summary
SRS Acquiom is looking for the next Relationship Manager to join our Business Development team. The Relationship Manager role is responsible for developing and managing national relationships for SRS Acquiom's payment and escrow services, facilitating the transaction onboarding process, overseeing the timeliness and accuracy of shareholder solicitations and payments, ensuring both SRS Acquiom’s compliance with governing documents and the timeliness and effectiveness of SRS Acquiom’s communication with all participants in the transaction.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all deal parties and professionals involved with a M&A escrow and payments transaction.
  • This role reports to the Managing Director for Escrow and Payment Solutions
  • The payments and escrow services Relationship Manager will lead the partnership amongst clients, marketing, the legal intake team and our onboarding and operations teams to achieve sales objectives by collaborating on solutions for prospects and client needs, collaborating to determine fee strategy and identifying additional products and services to cross refer
  • Manages our pre-closing solicitation, payments and escrow transactions through the life of a deal
  • Works closely with prospects to close payment and escrow services for a given transaction; issues service proposals on certain transactions in coordination with the BD rep
  • Successfully on-board clients, walking them through the payment and escrow process
  • Reviews governing documents (escrow and paying agent agreements) and identifies and escalates issues to the internal legal team (after negotiations are complete)
  • Ensures the collection of KYC account opening forms and forwards to appropriate parties
  • Requests and reviews payment spreadsheets to ensure all relevant information is provided by the deal parties and forwarding the same to internal operations
  • Negotiates, reviews, and finalizes Letters of Transmittal with RA assistance 
  • Fields inquiries from corporate principals, buy/sell-side counsel and major shareholders
  • Confirms deal documents are properly accounted for and loaded into internal database (request executed copies of the governing documents, etc.)
  • Oversees the tracking of all pending transactions
  • Accompany sales staff on client calls (both existing and new business opportunities)
  • Performs initial review of payment spreadsheets received to confirm that all information required by Operations to process payments appears to be present and understandable, including tax characterizations, wire instructions and other key information.
  • Coordinates with Operations to ensure their questions regarding solicitation, dollar amounts and tax reporting are all clearly defined and understood.
  • Other responsibilities include attending and organizing client meetings and events in order to develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients, support market research while generating leads through public deal information, maintaining a database of pending and booked deals to analyze deal data, such as: source, metrics, industry, trends, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience (M&A, banking or finance helpful)
  • General understanding of payment processes (e.g., know-your-customer requirements, ACH/wire payment process, etc.)
  • Understanding of the M&A environment and key market segments on both sides (Buyer and Seller)
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and explain the benefits and value behind industry-leading products and services
  • Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively within a group
  • Top notch Customer Service skills
  • Salesforce experience preferred/plus
  • Series 6/7 and 63 licenses preferred/plus
