To help us continue to grow our solutions, we are searching for an experienced, technical content manager and thought leader to be our Director of Parts Content and lead our parts content team.
The ideal candidate will have thought leadership experience with solutions that support electronics design and the electronics supply chain industries. You must have expert knowledge of components used in electronic circuits, deep understanding of supply chain and procurement challenges from raw materials to finished products, product life cycle issues, environmental and export compliance challenges, bill of materials analysis, and part selection. You should also have a proven track record of analyzing, commenting, and presenting your insights and analysis to the electronics design and supply chain communities using published articles, industry conference or trade show presentations, webinars, podcasts, social media, newsletters or white papers. Additionally, you will have experience working with diverse, cross-functional and distributed internal teams and customers.
As a Parts Manager, you are the expert with a deep understanding of the real value our solutions provide in practice. You consistently engage customer-facing resources with probing questions so that you can gain insights and empathize with customers. You vet and respond to ideas with urgency. You collect data from multiple areas and use that information to prioritize content roadmap choices. You will work closely with the content operations team and product management team to define development requirements and track progress closely.
Responsibilities:

  • The Parts Manager will manage a team of global parts SME's (Subject Matter Experts) who support our global sales teams.
  • Identify key needs of customers and perform the appropriate market research to identify new opportunities and obtain market validation.
  • Work closely with Sales, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Product Managers & Owners (PMs/POs), Solution Architects (SAs), Technical Account Managers (TAMs), and Customer Care to understand customer usage and challenges.
  • Prepare root cause analysis & lead follow-up meetings to ensure data challenges are resolved for strategic customers.
  • Leverage solution selling methods and value assessment methods to grow opportunities and align solutions to client business value
  • Apply your creativity, market insights and expertise to documenting high level requirements and overseeing the design and acceptance of solution enhancements, new features, and new markets.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to manage expectations, coordinate solution release planning, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Management of content roadmaps by identifying and prioritizing content operational goals, content growth opportunities, and new capabilities that align with business objectives and customer experience.
  • Coordinate with component manufacturers and distributors to improve our data content
  • Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategy for new solution launches or major content enhancements. This includes collaborating with sales and marketing on pricing, positioning, and messaging.


Specific Job Duties:

  • Lead and guide a global team of technical experts through our sales transition process while maintaining high performance and business growth
  • Understand unique needs of the IHS Markit customer base by vertical and roles within customer organizations
  • Conduct value assessments, develop partnerships and drive high-value engagements with customers
  • Demonstrate the benefits and features of IHS Markit Knowledge Solutions and services
  • Collaborate closely with Account Management and Product Management throughout the sales process
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers across multiple vertical industries and cross products internally
  • Support internal training events with Account Management and Customer Care organizations
  • Travel: up to 25% for sales support activities and customer visits


Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years of domain experience in the electronics industry, design and/or supply chain
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering; mechanical, electrical, manufacturing; Master's degree preferred
  • Ability to understand, prioritize, and generalize requests from customers that ultimately can be turned into solution features that positively impact the majority of users
  • Results-oriented with a track record for exceeding expectations and delighting customers
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • For work locations in the state of Colorado, the anticipated minimum base salary for this role would be $105,800. Compensation will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the applicant.
