The Microsoft Market Development Specialist (MMDS) plays a significant role in managing the Pax8 Microsoft MDF funding pipeline, strategic uses, and execution of Microsoft Partner MDF campaigns. This is a dual role, where the MMDS is serving both an external and internal “customer”.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Strategic sponsor of the relationship between Microsoft and Pax8
  • Serves Marketing and Business Development Management by: Acting as overlay between Microsoft and Product/Marketing teams. Supports project management of use of Microsoft MDF funds. Develops, manages, and executes Pax8 Microsoft MDF funded initiatives and programs.
  • Works with Microsoft and Pax8 Vendor Team on MDF campaigns and partner programs: Work closely with Vendor/Pax8 marketing on vendor spiffs/promos to align with MDF GTM strategy. Bring vendor partner program perks and resources to Pax8 partners for Incentives & Rebates programs. Proactively manage Vendor and Pax8 GTM strategy and initiatives with a focus on Microsoft MDF and Microsoft’s Partner Incentives & Rebates programs. Project manages the entire MDF program from creative to claiming with POE.
  • Keeps Pax8 organization and partners up to date and aware of new Incentives & Rebates and MDF offerings from Microsoft being an expert on Microsoft Partner Center
  • Participates in Microsoft + Pax8 Events and trainings (e.g., explaining how vendors work with Pax8 training, setting up L&L’s/other activities, etc.) enabling partners to get the most out of the Microsoft Incentives & Rebates programs
  • Collaborates with Marketing to develop an annual marketing plan that includes advertising, public relations, tradeshows, and industry events that support business strategy for use of Microsoft MDF funds
  • Develop detailed campaign project plans, including goals, messaging, calls to action, marketing distribution channels, follow-up activities, and success metrics.
  • Manage annual partner MDF budget tracking accruals, marketing spends, and reimbursement claims for a multi-million-dollar budget
  • Deliver monthly forecasts, strategic plans, and goals for Microsoft MDF and Incentives & Rebates program to Director of Microsoft Programs and Microsoft PDM pod

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least (3) years of experience in core sales experience, partner channel development, business development, alliance management in the technology marketing industry
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Partner Network and Microsoft Partner Center
  • Expert knowledge and deep understanding of Microsoft Partner MDF - Incentives & Rebates program and ecosystem
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Modern Workplace products
  • High level of project managements and organizational skills
  • Executive presence and ability to influence business leaders through business value propositions
  • Experience with MDF and Microsoft partner center platforms and developing new solutions
  • Inclusive and collaborative - driving teamwork and cross-team alignment
  • Proven business acumen and the ability to be socially aware of others’ personal drivers
  • Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort
  • Challenger mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in related field; or equivalent work experience
