The Manager of Sales Operations manages and develops processes, analysis, reporting, and functions that are critical in supporting our rapidly growing Sales organization. He/she manages a team of Sales Operations Analysts and leads the production and enhancement of daily and monthly quota attainment reporting, ad hoc operational reporting for Sales and Finance leadership, the Deal Desk function, and partner contract administration. The Manager is uniquely positioned to identify opportunities for process improvement and works collaboratively across departments - leading efforts that result in increased efficiency and greater insight into our business.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Managing team of Sales Operations Analysts: Developing and maintaining detailed and comprehensive training, and policy and procedure documentation for all responsibilities of the Sales Operations team
  • Managing the daily calculation of quota relief and other sales performance metrics
  • Managing the Deal Desk: Training and monitoring Analysts who create partner and customer-specific pricing. Maintaining and improving Deal Desk related sales tools such as margin calculators and internal processes
  • Managing contract administration function by ensuring all agreements are properly archived; managing updates to contracts resulting from mergers and acquisitions, legal entity name changes, etc.; managing quoting and renewals process for strategic partners via direct interaction with partners
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in existing sales processes, ordering functionality, reporting, etc., by communicating issues and making recommendations to the appropriate teams
  • Performing regular and ad-hoc financial and operational analyses for senior sales and finance leadership
  • Recommending sales compensation plan drivers, rules of engagement/policies, territory plans, etc. to senior sales leadership; validating feasibility and return on investment for changes to existing processes
  • Serving as product owner for sales operational analysis and sales quota relief by recommending and translating requirements from senior sales and finance leadership to various software development teams across the company
  • Acting as lead contact with Product team on new vendor and product launches; leading integration of new business models into existing sales processes
  • Providing guidance and education to the Sales team on processes, policies, and tools

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in Sales Operations required
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in Sales Operations preferred
  • Excellent listening skills. High EQ. Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, functions, macros, charts, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in learning disparate systems, identifying paths to improvement, follow-through on complex projects, and delivering improved outcomes
  • Process-oriented collaborative individual who is comfortable working in support of a large, high transaction volume, fast-paced, and agile sales force
  • Experience working with sales module of a CRM such as Salesforce.com
  • Keen troubleshooting skills; demonstrated success in identifying areas for improvement and managing process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in a rapidly growing start-up environment, with the ability to take on multiple responsibilities, and organize and lead around ambitious goals
  • At least three (3) years of experience in sales, operations analysis, planning/forecasting, financial analysis, or statistical analysis preferred
  • At least five (5) years of experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM preferred
  • At least three (3) years of experience in cloud/SaaS businesses with a recurring revenue model preferred
  • At least five (5) years of experience working with the channel and/or tiered distribution business models preferred

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Business, Finance or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
