In this role, you will design, develop and execute the training and professional development strategy for Western Union’s Global Sales Teams along with Product and Operations. The person in this role will implement all initiatives timely and within the required budget.

In this role you will be implementing sales training initiatives that drive performance and that will 1) build skill and knowledge accountability, 2) close and renew more business and 3) develop a learning culture. Key tactics to execute this strategy may include creating and facilitating in-person training, new hire classes, virtual and online trainings. May negotiate contracts with and hold vendors accountable for delivery as needed. Key tactics also include developing relevant sales skill and knowledge tools and building and managing a sales skill and knowledge certification system. You will work closely with the headquarters and field leadership team to align with the current business strategy, to assess sales performance needs and coordinate sales training execution. Using the certification systems you build, you will be expected to provide evaluation of key metrics and utilize the data to formulate training and development plans in the future.

You will design, conduct and deliver training to the Global sales and operations teams. This is done on time and within budget. Assure that employees are trained on basic selling skills and product knowledge. Build a sales skill and knowledge certification system and collaborate with leadership to sustain and support. Provide measurement of established metrics for each training initiative to leadership. Form and lead a training council with the department heads to assess department training needs and to build an effective organizational learning culture. Continue building upon established foundational consultative and strategic sales methodologies that represent the Western Union way of selling. Leverage Western Union’s global talent management offerings as part of the training program and collaborate with other internal training and development leaders.
 

You will need a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business. Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of three years of experience delivering sales training is required. This experience is preferably in a multicultural environment. A minimum of three years of experience designing and implementing sales training programs is required. This should include working with and negotiating sales training contracts with outside vendors. Demonstrated ability to negotiate sound agreements with business vendors and to hold them accountable is required. A minimum of five years of sales experience with the understanding of critical consultative selling competencies. This experience is preferably in the financial or consumer packaged goods industry. This experience is preferably in a multicultural environment. A minimum of three years’ experience leading a sales team is preferred. A minimum of one year experience using Webex Recorder or similar software programs to create quick, relevant online sales training modules is preferred.

For this role you will need an understanding of learning science is desirable. Demonstrated ability to sell internally to executive-level leadership and collaborate with internal teams around training initiatives. Strong emotional intelligence and relationship skills. Ability to think out of the box and create new ways to motivate learning and impact performance. Strong business acumen. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel 20-30% of the time. 5+ years related experience with 2 years supervisory.

Annual base salary gross: $81,813-144,116. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
