Job Description

 What we’re looking for:

Marketo is looking for a Sales Development Manager in our Denver Office to coach and scale a team of high performing Sales Development Representatives. Day in and day out, you’ll be responsible for working side by side with the SDRs to execute on our pipeline generation strategy. 

The ideal candidate thrives when solving others’ challenges - whether that’s a SDR’s or a potential customer’s. You’ll leverage a consultative approach to both selling and to leadership. In our high growth environment, we need someone who is both strategically and tactically sharp. 

You are excited by defining the right plays for SDRs to use in order to exceed our pipeline goals. You will help us open the door to new regions and industries. Through your coaching and execution of strategy, SDRs will have the tools and knowledge needed to identify qualified opportunities for our New Business team. 

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as SDRs’ day to day mentor and coach. Assist in identifying lead sources, constructing prospect lists, shadowing and scoring calls, working through prospect objections and performing other activities that will grow new business pipeline.
  • Recruit, coach, develop and promote a high-performing SDR team that will exceed revenue pipeline targets and become Marketo’s next generation of sales leaders.
  • Ramp SDRs to develop fundamental sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Manage, track and report on your team’s sales activities, quotas and goals using Salesforce.com
  • Encourage innovation on your team. Use data to refine sales leads process, metrics, and tools. Improve SDR sales and product playbooks.
  • Proactively identify and launch initiatives that drive new business growth and operational excellence.

What would make you a great fit:

  • 2-5 years of Sales Development team lead/manager experience in a high growth organization.
  • A love for coaching. You have a keen eye for the nuances that will make SDRs better sales people and business leaders each and every day.
  • Experience selling at a leading technology company and a track record of exceeding quota targets. SaaS experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership experience. Your peers and colleagues look to you to set the example. Huge plus if you’ve won an award for this.
  • You’re a team player. You're collaborative, coachable, thoughtful, and resourceful. You measure your success by the success of the team around you.
  • A knack for quickly deconstructing challenges, then prioritizing steps to tackle them.
  • A passion for operational rigor and excellence. You love finding the levers to accelerate growth. Salesforce dashboards are on your list of favorite things.
  • A willingness to challenge the status quo. You are excited to experiment, measure, get creative and iterate.

Our new office is in the Denver City Center near plenty of shops and restaurants. We also have amazing views of the Rocky Mountains from our windows.
