As a pioneer in the emerging sector of FinTech, SALT launched a proprietary technology that operates a first of its kind lending marketplace for blockchain-based assets. Its services offer membership-based borrowing that allow financial institutions to get indirectly involved with this new asset class while giving consumers a way to leverage their blockchain-backed assets to secure cash loans – linking cryptocurrency with traditional lending models for the first time. This business is first to market and moving at a fast pace to bring sophisticated products to the new market. 
The Lending Operations Associate will work closely with the Controller along with other investment professionals within the firm as an integral member of the lending operations team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work in coordination with the lending operations team to originate and service loans
• Assist with loan/lending origination systems maintenance and support
• Assist with calculation and processing of fees and other payments
• Assist with annual financial statement audit process and related tax statement preparation
• Assist with managing service provider and client relationships
• Assist Controller with other functional responsibilities including corporate accounting, compliance, and new business initiative execution
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when explaining complicated topics

Preferred Candidate Experience:

• 3+ years of full-time consumer lending operations experience or has supervised consumer lending operations at a licensed consumer finance company/exempt depository bank
• 3+ years of full-time consumer/commercial lending servicing experience or has supervised a team that services loans
• 1-3+ years of full-time debt collection experience at a collection agency or a servicer/collection agency, and who has familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
• Interest in blockchain technology & cryptocurrency with a background in accounting.
• Candidate must already possess or be willing to immediately acquire commercial lender licenses, consumer loan licenses, servicing and debt collection licenses. Relevant direct experience in loan origination and servicing is a must. Experience with trade settlements, money movement, transaction processing, bank account and trade reconciliations, banking, managing third-party service provider relationships, financial statement preparation, and budget preparation are all positives.
