IHS Markit is in search of an Inside Sales Specialist. The Inside Sales Specialist works within a high energy sales team that sells Engineering and Product Design products and/or services primarily via telephone for both existing and new accounts. In this role, the Inside Sales Specialist works with general supervision, as part of a team and within defined guidelines. The Inside Sales Specialist has general awareness of industry, business, financials, products or services and market and core sales processes.

 

This role is responsible for a limited complexity of accounts, territory, products or services sold and normally interacts with customers by presenting demonstrations, configurations, and recommendations of determined product sets.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Qualifies and follows up with sales leads, from telemarketing as well as via cold calling

  • Ensures that accurate forecasting, pipeline management and other sales process/infrastructures are established

  • Generates a sales pipeline using core sales processes to drive revenue in line with quota

  • Places customer first

  • Possesses knowledge of company products and services - able to articulate our value proposition

  • Demonstrates the ability to exercise judgment with in defined procedures and practices          

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Works under general supervision within defined guidelines as part of a team

  • Requires some judgment or evaluation of a variety of factors, according to established sales process and procedure

  • Has general awareness of industry, business, financials, products/services; the market and core sales processes

  • Is responsible for a limited complexity of accounts, territory, products/services sold

  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet established deadlines

  • Interacts normally with exchange or presentation of factual information, recommendations and resolution of issues or concerns

  • Has a good understanding of products and services

  • Has a good understanding of value proposition and core sales process

  • 3-5 years of experience

  • University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Occasional travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required once COVID restrictions are removed.
