The Inside Sales Manager will be primarily responsible for the growth and success of the Water Heater Marketplace program, assisting with all facets of Customer Experience and helping customers make better energy choices. You will work with customers and suppliers throughout the customer’s decision to ensure that the customer receives maximum value from our Marketplace. You will guide our customers through initial research, helping them to choose the right unit for them, and finally through the delivery and installation process. You will act as a liaison between Water Heater Marketplace Customer Service, the rest of the company, and key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as category subject matter expert for the Water Heater Marketplace program
  • Develop strong relationships with Engineering, Product and Operations to ensure cohesion and shared understanding of goals and initiatives
  • Work with customers on escalated issues to ensure the best possible experience
  • Manage suppliers and service providers to ensure that the customer receives the best possible experience and to ensure that KPIs are met
  • Serve as an escalation point for Customer Support, Fraud Prevention, and critical customer issues; serve as a liaison to other internal departments.
  • Hire, train and lead a large internal workforce in order to achieve high performance and company success
  • Develop, implement, and monitor department processes and procedures ensuring effective and efficient operations
  • Take ownership and triage cases via helpdesk ticketing system, provide regular updates to other squads, and manage requests to meet business KPI’s
  • Provide statistical and performance feedback on a regular basis
  • Assist with customer service calls/chat and emails when needed

About you

  • You have foundational knowledge of high-efficiency electric water heaters and/or plumbing and/or HVAC experience
  • You are a master multi-tasker and can pivot from one task to the next
  • You have a passion for providing excellent customer service
  • You have experience managing external vendors and contractors and ensuring that key service level expectations are met
  • Experienced in Customer Service management best practices and expanding upon existing procedures.
  • You have hands-on experience building and leading large teams
  • You take charge in stressful situations and help guide others
  • A high energy level with excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proactive and seeks opportunities to learn and improve existing processes
  • Ability to attract, build, and retain a team of high performing individuals; must be adept at assessing, coaching, and effectively managing employee performance
  • You are an active communicator and keep internal teams informed of any new developments
  • You love to take on new challenges and are not afraid to teach yourself new things
  • You thrive in unstructured environments and use that flexibility to your advantage
  • Bonus: experience with Zendesk, Shopify, Jira, or similar CRMs
