Hotel Group Sales, Account Manager

Candidate Profile:
The Hotel Account Manager, Group Sales is responsible for growing our Hotel Engine Group customer base and increasing revenue by following up on inbound leads, onboarding new clients, collaborating with sales to target prospects, and developing strong relationships with clients. Success comes from self-motivation and the ability to create and foster long-term relationships and repeat business as well as identifying upsell opportunities for current and potential clients.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Understand group travel needs, hotel negotiation, and contracting
  • Ability to take to process a group lead from initial request all the way through to billing and destination arrival
  • Recognize travel trends in different markets and relay this information to clients to make informed decisions
  • Handle complex travel itineraries
  • Establish and maintain relationships with corporate representatives and Director of Sales at various hotels and vendors around the country
  • Manage portfolio of 40+ clients
  • Create positive and enduring relationships with clients
  • Inbound lead management
  • Communicate effectively and work across departments to achieve goals
  • Innovative, consistently look for ways to improve and streamline processes
  • Occasional on-call and weekend work may be required
  • Work with Hotel Engine Outside Sales to onboard & work with prospective clients
  • Collaborate on new member and public form group requests

Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of group travel experience, preferred
  • Outstanding customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Day-to-day client management experience
  • Extremely organized and highly motivated with the ability to prioritize work and adhere to strict timelines
  • Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
  • Capable of handling stress and maintaining a professional composure, while managing and working on multiple projects and with multiple clients simultaneously
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, learning new software and evolving department vision
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Work Hard, Play Hard mentality

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of business experience
