Position Description

As Head of Deal Desk, you will own the Zayo deal management process. In this newly created role, you will have the opportunity to shape and execute our deal management processes, ranging from deal support, quote preparation, contract review, approval management, and deal processing. You will also have the opportunity to continually improve our process, ensuring a scalable and sustainable support model for our expanding sales team.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a focal point of contact for all transactional and strategic deals

• Works cross-functionally with other areas (Legal, Product, Ops, Finance) to ensure that deals move quickly, efficiently and intelligently through the process

• Manages day to day operations for Zayo Deal Desk, including support for the Strategic, Vertical and Regional Network Sales segments of the business

• Establishes triage criteria and guidelines to funnel deals through “swim lanes” to create repeatable, efficient deal velocity

• Produces Sales Metrics data and KPIs on Deal Desk performance for continuous improvement

• Develop SLAs for internal deal execution tasks

• Reviews and defines the short-term and long-term talent goals for the Deal Desk team

• Proven leadership skills to continually improve and streamline working practices, tools and processes

• Supports large RFP submissions with the following activities: deal shaping, deal approvals, deal quality reviews and win strategy sessions

Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree

• Advanced degree

• 5+ years of Deal Desk and Sales Operations supporting enterprise customers

• Contract structuring and commercial terms negotiation

• Experience with RFPs and working with different commercial models and pricing structures

• Customer-focused and self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through

• Excellent writing skills, a technical and analytical mindset, and substantial experience supporting proposal responses for enterprise customers

• Excellent communicating with, and gaining consensus from internal leadership teams

• Ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders

• Strong financial acumen, including financial modeling and return on investment analysis 

• Strong telecom industry product knowledge

• Ability to develop high performing teams and deliver continuously at high performance levels

  • Base salary range: $175,000-$195,000

  • Full-time Zayo employees are also eligible for discretionary quarterly short-term and long-term incentive cash bonuses which are based on the performance of the Company, an employee’s business segment, and the individual employee
