BillGO is looking for a motivated deal closer that understands how to move the needle. The VP Strategic Partnerships role is a unique position that combines business development, product and strategy and will require experience navigating large and often complex organizations as well as knowledge of payments-related contracts with large financial institutions and billers. Key traits for success in this role are being a problem solver, continuous learner, a great collaborator, with the ability to distill the complex into an easily digestible form. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Individual contributor responsible for securing data and payment-related contracts with the top financial institutions and billers in America
- Develop customized targeting strategies; lead the business development, negotiations and contracting efforts both internally and externally
- Build relationships across multiple functional areas within each strategic account
- Evangelize BillGO’s unique value proposition and capabilities to prospects
- Collaborate with BillGO senior management, Product Management and development teams to craft solutions/contracts that meet or exceed expectations
- Provide feedback from the market to key Company stakeholders regarding market demands; make suggestions for improvement
- Create and lead presentations catered to developing near and mid-term opportunities
- Maintain strong ongoing relationships with key Company stakeholders
Requirements:
- 10 years or more of proven experience selling payment-related solutions to complex organizations, including the Top 50 U.S.-based financial institutions
- A track record of successfully building relationships with C-suite and other senior-level decision makers
- Proven success evangelizing a new business model in the market
- Demonstrable track record of assembling creative solutions for clients or partners
- Financial acumen and understanding of banking, biller, and card network business models
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – comfort presenting and engaging at all levels
- Excellent presentation skills and questioning capabilities; ability to listen
- Hands-on experience with proposal creation and leading proposal presentations
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills;
- Organized, detail oriented, flexible, highly motivated self-starter
- 50+ percent travel – significant time spent onsite with prospects
- Willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment where the belief is that great ideas can come from anywhere. Candidates must be able to embrace this culture, foster idea generation, and work to cultivate the best ideas into an executable plan; an attitude that to create you must collaborate
- Bachelor’s Degree a must; MBA a plus
Recommended but not required:
- Familiarity with Open Banking APIs and the broader API landscape
- Experience working with payment networks, billers and/or industry associations
- Business consulting engagement experience
