Role:
The Sales & Services OPS organization is seeking an experienced Director or SR Manager of Sales Operations to lead the Deals Desk and Order Provisioning teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record evolving SaaS order management processes to drive deal quality, operational efficiencies from quote, through provisioning. This highly strategic role will work closely with cross functional teams (Sales, IT, Prod Engineering, Professional Services, Legal, Finance and Customer Success) to orchestrate order management activities and drive sales velocity, enabling a multi-billion dollar business.
Main areas of responsibility:
- Day to day operations of onshore FTE's and offshore BPO resources
- Manage all SFDC, CPQ, CLM, RPA and dependent QTC systems and tools
- Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Finance, Legal and Accounting teams
- Contribute to the innovation of systems across the CPQ and order management process
- Drive adherence of sales policies and global standardization of procedures
- Develop process improvements opportunities to meet evolving business requirements
- Ensure quality standards of all Sales Agreements and Contracts processed
- Lead and develop a high performance global team - recruit, hire, train, coach
- Participate in Annual Operational Plans (AOP) and Long-Range Business Plans (LRBP)
- Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness with senior executives and key stakeholders
- Ability to develop and present data driven business plans and analysis
- Develop and maintain operational metrics and KPI's, with a high degree of transparency
Deal Management and Quality Bookings:
- Partner with the Sales teams in the opportunity management process to structure and propose the best possible deals to drive high quality bookings and enabling the team to exceed quarterly and annual goals
- Analysis and validation of deal structures and monetization models to optimize quality bookings, increase win ratio, revenue and margins
- Participation in weekly/monthly pipeline and forecast reviews
- Enforce sales stage definitions, aligning sales methodology and defined sales process
- Align with Product Eng., NPI, Product Market teams on offers and product releases
- Work with Retention and CS teams to reduce churn, refunds and remediate disputes
Order Management and Provisioning:
- Lead all EOM/EOQ activities
- Operational owner of CPQ environment, participate in developing capabilities roadmap
- Identify and remediate barriers in the deal process and remove deal drag
- Drive sales productivity, reducing administrative overhead form the sales teams
- Manage non-standard deals process, ensuring required approvals (GOA) are in place with Sales Leadership, Legal and Finance to reduce risk and manage compliance
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Deals Desk leadership role
- Must have High Tech and SaaS GTM experience, UCaaS preferred
- Positive, professional and can-do attitude with an ability to lead an evolving team
- Proven track record developing and managing CPQ and Order Management systems
- Familiarity with a wide variety of routes to market (direct, channel and strategic partner sales) and segments (SMB, commercial, enterprise) in multiple geographies (North America, EMEA, APJ)
- Ability to work through rapidly shifting priorities
- Experience working with offshore BPO resources
- Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers of all levels
- Experience identifying areas for process improvement and driving solutions
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects with aggressive deadlines
- Experience with salesforce.com, CPQ and billing tools
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters is desirable
