VictorOps is a high-growth, venture-backed startup in Boulder, Colorado seeking an experienced, tactical and strategic Director of Sales to lead a team of sales professionals tasked with generating new business and existing renewals in a SaaS-based environment. The appointed person will play a significant role in leading this emerging, fast-moving company.
The Role
This person will be a valuable contributor to the corporate sales strategy while providing definition and implementation of the plan for sales to achieve company objectives. The Director of Sales plays a vital role not only with regard to revenue generation and team management but also with VictorOps’ reputation in the marketplace.

Responsibilities
- Right-hand collaborator and advisor to the VP of Sales
- Has a proven ability to mentor, coach, and lead team members to consistently drive results
- Sales enablement strategy, planning, and execution
- Forecast and pipeline management
- Conduct forecast meetings and coach team members regarding strategies to drive closure
- Reporting and analytics
- Manage the growth and scaling of the sales organization including recruiting and hiring
- Lead key account lifecycles
- Collaborate with cross-departmental peers to build internal workflows
A Day in the Life
- Work with the VP of Sales to strategize on sales team development, revenue growth and direction
- Consistently monitor the sales activity of the team and track the results
- Build within Salesforce.com the reports and dashboards needed to drive success
- Learn from and work with marketing, support and other departments on strategy to continually improve interactions with customers and prospects
- Training and mentorship of sales team members
- Take advantage of the free snacks, keg, gift cards to local coffee shops and weekly catered breakfast that VictorOps offers
Skills / Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience in a dynamic, results-driven technical environment (preferably SaaS)
- 3+ years of people management skills in coaching/mentoring, recruiting/hiring of software sales teams
- Technical sales experience in an individual contributor role (preferably 3+ years)
- Working knowledge/experience of Agile, DevOps, Software Delivery space is a plus
- You are considered a clear and direct communicator. You understand giving and getting feedback in a 360 degree manner is critical both to your own success and the success of the organization
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to work and thrive in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
- Able to grasp new technology products and services and how to leverage them in a competitive marketplace
- Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
- Exceptional listener with stellar presentation skills
- Proven ability to cultivate highly productive, collaborative relationships with the internal sales team, cross functional stakeholders, and across the entire organization
- Ability to travel approximately 30-40%
