We are seeking a Director of Sales to lead and grow our high-impact sales organization. This role will be responsible for leading a team of Account Executives and Sales Development Reps responsible for new business and expansion quota attainment, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and discovering new opportunities and processes to grow revenue.

What You’ll Do

  • Live by and champion our cultural values of Happy, Hungry, Honest, and Humble
  • Manage an inside sales team in achieving individual and team quota
  • Develop and drive strategic plan to achieve and exceed these revenue goals
  • Assist sales team in planning, negotiating, and closing complex transactions with key prospects
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Product, and other internal groups to maximize effectiveness of the sales organization
  • Develop presentations and pitches to demonstrate SendGrid’s value to various customer segments
  • Translate the needs of SendGrid’s customers to meet the objectives of our overall business plans and strategies
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to sales reps and managers regarding sales strategies, competitive analysis, and market research

About You

  • Hungry, Honest, Humble, and Happy
  • 10+ years of software sales experience for B2B or SaaS companies
  • 5+ years in a sales management role
  • A track record of performance excellence, meeting and exceeding targets and objectives
  • Experience developing accurate sales forecasts, and creating and executing tactical sales plans and account objectives
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic - Provide proactive, meaningful insight & identification of long-term or overall aims and interests and the means of achieving them. Clear and directly face the strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
